This song is sweet. But I wish people would stop saying how bad a song it is just because its not really deep and meaningful. It doesnt matter, he didnt write it for that and its only a b-side anyway. Its just a happy song he wrote for his nephew. He wasnt writing it for anyone else or so they could over-analyse it or say its horrible. Calm down. If you care that much then go and listen to Arc of time or something where you can break down every line and what you think it means. Theres not that much to analyse in this song, unless youre going to research every possible meaning of the word "blue" which I bet people have ;) Haha but this song is good to listen to if you feel down. I want to sing it to someone now... |

I dont like Britney Spears at all. Her music has always been really superficial. But this song is actually really good. And now ive heard that she actually wrote it herself. I was so shocked to hear that. So what I dont get is, if Britney can write her own songs and make them really good and really meaningful like this, then why does she only sing terrible songs? Wow...sad songs have made me cry before but this is the first song thats made me cry with happiness. Its happy and sweet and romantic but not in a fake and cheesy sort of way, its just really honest. And its so hopeful. Im going to listen to this song whenever im down and losing faith in love and all that...this makes it better :) |

Well it looks like youre the hypocrite. They don't speak up? Then what is this album about? Both this and American Idiot are about being against war and the politics of America so how is that not speaking up? Believe it or not they do a lot for charity. And yeah, I agree that people with that much fame should use their power to speak for the people who can't. But seeing as how they are muscians, what better way to do that than by making music about it? They're just saying what a lot of other people think. |

I so agree. And it makes me laugh when critics slag off this song cos its like "this songs about people like you, you idiot!" Haha it also kind of relates to some of the people that have been coming on here to slag of McFly songs (but not this one...hmm, wonder why? lol) cos they hate them soooo much, yet theyre spending their time commenting on almost every one of their songs! For this reason i'm so glad McFly wrote this song, so I can quote it to sad people like that who don't even see the irony. Hahaha JK1 I agree that is pretty awesome :D But yeah I thought it was about that all along, about being scared of the world and stuff at night. This song bursts into my head when i'm coming home late and I see all these gangs and scary people around. Is it weird that McFly make me less scared? Like when i'm in a particularly nervous or frightening situation and I think about one of one of their songs that relates to that situation it sort of takes the fear away and calms me down. Lol I dunno, maybe thats a bit strange. But yeah it makes me love them even more :) |

On the cd it is "ship", but ive watched the live versions many many times and I swear it sounds exactly like "shit". So maybe theyre doing the same thing as they did with 5 Colours, when they sang "phone" on the cd and "bone" at their concerts which it was obviously meant to be haha. But yeah awesome song :) |

Tom wrote this for his girlfriend. Its really just a love song, and its about reassuring someone about how much you love them. So for anyone saying "oh this is such a bad song cos its not even good", well it was just supposed to be a present for his girlfriend. But then he decided it was great for comic relief, which it was. I think its very sweet :) And I so agree with millybliss, i'd probably marry someone if they wrote this for me haha! And people wonder why girls go for musicians... |

Oh ive decided to just ignore that quiffporn moron. He spends so much time slagging of bands that he's obviously just another loser with no life who wants a reaction. So why give him one? Anyway the song...the meanings pretty obvious (no pun intended), but its great to sing along to at their concerts. Again, not their best but this is one of those Mcfly songs thats more focused on the catchiness than the lyrics. Which is fine really, cos they have a ton of lyric-focused songs to make up for it :) But this is also great for if youre learning to play guitar, cos its fun and easy :D |

Youve got your heartfelt meaningful songs to listen to in your room when youre feeling down and alone, and then youve got fun songs like this to just jump around to and have fun with. People only slag them off because theyve only heard songs like this and 5 Colours...If they only knew some of the great songs on their albums... |

I don't really know what this song is actually about, but what I got from it was that someone is in a really unhealthy relationship and they're only just realising the damage its done to them: "This day probably tore me apart, and I didn�t even know it" But they can't seem to leave: "This fog is like strawberry pie but it keeps you keep on reaching". So now theyre trying to get away and get back on the right track ("i'm running to the light" etc). Im not sure, but thats just how I interpreted it. But I guess it can mean different things to people so who knows? |

Green Day wrote almost an entire album about the suckiness of the politics of America :S Not everyone has to like Bush. In fact now, most people hate him so its kind of like wtf? Anyway I love the DC's even more for standing up for what they believe in and the people sending the death threats and throwing out their cd's etc is way overboard and actually very horrible. |

I agree with Venushalley. Who cares if everything she talks about isnt historically accurate? You're missing the message of the song, which is that people these days are so corrupted by money, power and fame etc and don't care about each other. And she did write it herself. Theres nothing manufactured about her, this is what she believes in and I think we need more people like that instead of the self-obsessed "paris hiltons's" that the world is full of today. |

Seriously, I used to argue with people about this stuff but now I've come to the conclusion that it's not really worth arguing with someone pathetic enough to go to the pages of bands they don't like just so they can slag them off. And guiffporn, I know thats what you do because you've spent ages commenting on loads of McFly songs to say you hate them as well. So I'm not gonna waste time with people like that, instead I'm just gonna say that I love this song and what its about. And it was nice that on tour they dedicated it to anyone who ever felt like they werent good enough, or felt like a nerd and so on :) Anyway, Busted changed a lot of peoples lives. If it wasnt for them, I wouldnt have started listening to other guitar bands and expanding my musical tastes, so I wouldnt even know about half the music I like now. And thats actually the case with a lot of people, so I don't think its fair to say so much bad stuff about them. If you don't like them, fine. But please learn to accept that people don't always like the same music as you. |

I can so relate to this song, except that to me its not a break up (even though it might have been written about kelly's break up), to me its about being in love with someone and they love you, but too many things get in the way and it's like, well maybe one day you'll love me and we'll be together.

This song is so accurate about what its like to be depressed as a teenager. Even if you're not suicidal I think we can all kind of relate at some point.
And can we please stop going on about Blink 182 "selling out" just because their music style has changed? Why shouldnt they be allowed to change their style of music? People are so obsessed with putting music into genres and stuff but all you're doing is limiting yourself! In my opinion music is music and shouldnt need to be categorised so much. |
