The White Stripes – Sugar Never Tasted So Good Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I think this song is more or less about life. In general, and how you do what everyone tells you to, but it never really turns out the way you plan. "Until her eyes crossed over Until her mind crossed over Until her soul fell next to me" Could be about winning someone over; having them fall in love with you. "What a feeling that's begun What a feeling that's begun" is more about falling in love, perhaps getting married. "I felt just like a baby Until I held a baby What a fool this boy can be" Could be about feeling like you're not ready to have children and start a family. How you feel so young, until you have your own child. "And her thoughts like a daisy How my mind gets lazy I must've been crazy not to see" This could be about growing away from someone, and finding that you've become bored with them. "If the wrinkle that is in your brain Has given you quite a steam Your fingers have become a crane Your fingers have become a crane Your fingers have become a crane Pulling on these puppet strings" Could be about realizing that you did what everyone thinks life is about,(falling in love, getting married, having a baby) but it didn't turn out the way you thought. "Water never tasted so good Water never tasted so good Water never tasted good to me" Could be about realizing after you've made all the mistakes that you never wanted what you had in the first place. |
The White Stripes – The Air Near My Fingers Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Jack White once said in an interview that he was going to take this song off the album. He said the song is about nonsense, and he thought it was the worst song on the album. Personally I really like this song. It's got a really laid back feel to it. |
