It's about a patient at a mental institute who thinks the nurse is in love with him just because she gives him attention and cares about him. When the song starts he is laying face down in the rug, slowly fading away (shrinking in your head). The reason is because when he realizes the nurse isn't in loved with him, he can't take it and commits suicide by an overdose. The apples on the ground are probably drops of blood that came out of his nose after the overdose. While he is dying he remembers his life, "everything he left behind". And the song ends on the rug, when he finally dies. |
