The Smiths – Pretty Girls Make Graves Lyrics | 14 years ago |
"I could have been wild and I could have been free, But Nature played this trick on me" I always listen to that line as him saying "Wilde" in obvious reference to his Idol. That line is also very similar to the line in Magazine's song "Philadelphia" "I'd've been Raskolnikov but Mother Nature ripped me off" Morrissey was a fan of Magazine or at least took something from their music as he covered "A Song From Under The Floorboards". |

The Smiths – I Know It's Over Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Pretty much how I see the song aswel, but of course others may see it differently as we all look at a song in relation to ourselfs. so however the song fits you, weather it be a break up etc is what it is ment to be. I don't think Morrissey is trying to tell a particular story in this song, just putting his emotions and feelings into words that we all see to hold very close to us. |
Morrissey – Hold On To Your Friends Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Fantastic song. I think this might be another of his songs like "Accept Yourself" is, where he is singing to himself, telling himself not to let go of his friends or push them away and in doing that is telling us not to make the mistake he may have made. just my view on it though, no one really knows but the great man himself. |
The Smiths – Some Girls Are Bigger Than Others Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Im most likely wrong, but too me the song is about Morrissey's/Mens trying to understand women. "From the ice-age to the dole-age There is but one concern" but all he can discover is that some are bigger then others. |
