This entire song is an indictment of modern society... And a promise that the wicked who do harm to the good will be severely punished when judgement day comes for them. Anyone who doesn't fight the evil by rejecting the govt's and the media's programming meant to brainwash them is essentially just a soldier in the evil army. It's meant to make people take a look at themselves and ask themselves whether not they want to be on the side of evil men when they are judged by "God." |

I'm shocked that this song has been out for a while and no one's posted on it... This song is awesome. Powerful lyrics, good beat, great song for clubbing, driving, or just losing yourself in the music.
I think the meaning is pretty obvious... It's about people going through tough times in their life... Mainly in this case losing your first love, but it really can be applied to any kind of loss. It's a song meant to empower you to keep pushing forward, living in the world around you, rather than in the pictures on the wall (that is to say, the past). |

I actually think it makes a good "parting ways" song.... Any type of break up, or moving away, etc... People dont like change, so they look for someone to blame.... And when will we sing a new song could be "whats next for us as friends/lovers?" That's my take. I'm actually using it in a tribute video for a friend, thats why I interpret it that way. |

This song is both a tribute to those who've defended our freedom and propaganda to encourage more young men and women to join the military.... I mean, just look at the time period it was made... We're fighting 2 wars and we're not exactly running a "surplus" of soldiers.... Yes its a good tribute to what the army does, but the bottom line is this song was made for the purpose of getting more warm bodies in the military. You can dress it up all you want, but that fact is inescapable. I'm not saying I disagree with it, but it just is what it is. |

See, what I don't get about this song is, if you watch the music video here: http://youtube.com/watch?v=8W6o0cF9Qng ..... it sort of implies in a way at the end that the guy didn't have anything to do with Jenny's death.... why? cuz when he gets the needle and dies, Jenny is waiting for him on the other side at the cemetery, and they walk off and in hand..... Would she still be in love with him if he had murdered her? That's what sorta boggles my mind about the whole "Murder trilogy"..... Was it really *him* that murdered her, or was he falsely convicted? |
