CreatedxVoid is right, this song is about humanities impact on the planet. Gaia is the Greek Mother Goddess, and considered the lifeblood of the planet. Final Fantasy geeks will recognise the reference. So "Gaia Bleeds" literally means that the planet is bleeding. The lyrics are fairly staightforward to understand, witha few little references chucked in, such as 'manifesting a destiny', which refeences the pioneers belief in manifest destiny, which was essentially a misplaced belief that ended up with the mass genocide of Native Americans and came very close to the destruction of an entire species in the buffalo, all in the name of progress. The last verse is about how we pretend it's not happening, but we all know it is. A simple song, but well done and very catchy. Nice to hear them trying something a bit new as well. |

Awesome song. It's about the futility of religion, tying to look at the bible with an open mind, from a different point of view. It's about mistakes and evil being inherent and being passed down. |
