I think Billy sung at the end... he also did the art of The Chronicles of Life and Death. Talented kid! Well, he's not really a kid anymore... Um, anyway, this song is about the grief of loss. Death can be confusing because the person OBVIOUSLY isn't physically there, but yet you have so many memories of them so it feels like they're still around. So that's where the "ghost" element comes in... the ghost being the memories that "haunt" the singer. So the ghost is all the singer has left to hold, and when he wakes up, he realises that it was all a trance and the person is gone forever... I think this is my favourite CoLaD song. SOS is pretty good too. |

I used to think it was "isn't THAT an obligation to care" rather than DAD. I haven't read the lyric book in AAAAAGES so who knows? Yeah, when I first heard it, I thought it was about a girl, but then I'm like, "Nah, this has to be about B and J's s***ty father." Well, it can be interpreted how you like, but the point of this website is to figure what the lyricist meant, I suppose. |

I love how the Good Charlotte section has a severe lack of lyrical interpretation- people rather argue about the legitimacy of the genre or the band's musical ability. Or basically if they like the band or not. Which is fine, but you know, some go too far... I don't care that they're pretending to be hardcore! Who cares? They make music- and what music you think is good or bad is up to you... that's the greatest thing about music tastes. Definitely and obviously a song about the superficiality of people. Pretty much talking about how the hot dumb girls like the rich guys. Amazingly true in most cases. |

Good Charlotte is OK... I used to be totally in love with them when I was 11~13... hee hee Anyway, this song is pretty self-explanatory. Boy kills girl's boyfriend, and tries to win her heart by consoling her. In the end, his conscience compels him to tell her the truth (gorily, might I add). |

Errr... why are some people acting like Paris Hilton is the only person in the music industry that uses digital enhancement? You god damn "hardcore" rockers (not all of you, but some) think only your musical genre is absolute and that no other contains any talent. No talent in pop/RnB? What about Justin Timberlake? He's won Grammy Awards. He can sing, dance, write and sometimes compose music. Mariah Carey is also in pop and RnB, and she's a star! Her voice is matched by very few people. Just because they don't play electric guitar, it doesn't make them untalented! Don't get me wrong, I hate Paris Hilton just like anybody else, but I'm not narrow-minded enough to single out one "musical artist" for taking advantage of modern technology. Rock uses it as well, to make guitar sound better (and in some cases, remove unwanted "twangs" and "echoes"). Do you have any idea how much different Gerard sounds live? No one disses him! (BTW I like My Chem!) Avril Lavigne is also a good example. The pop genre is fast making good use of technology... in my opinion, it's almost dominated by dance pop. Not that that's a bad thing, since I like it... I just don't think of this song highly because I can't get into it. The synth is pretty catchy, but still, the lyrics put me off. When you critique a song, give a good reason other than the singer's personal life or modern technological enhancements that ALL stars make use of today! |
