Timber Timbre – Magic Arrow Lyrics | 11 years ago |
I think you're right about that. I think the main 'character' of the narration is a missionary who wanted to 'heal' the natives with Christianity. The missionary was positive about the journey, anxious to introduce Christianity and possibly medicine to the natives until he sees the white rider take, and take some more (of the native's lives and land) The magic arrows are probably bullets. |
Grum – Heartbeats Lyrics | 12 years ago |
We're not authorized to display the lyrics of a song that just goes Heartbeats (ah-ah), heartbeats (ah-ah), heartbeats (ah-ah), heartbeats (ah-ah)x50. God forbid someone tries to rip-off the lyricism, lol. Fan-fucking-tastic song though. So good. This whole album is absolutely stunning. |
James Blake – To Care (Like You) Lyrics | 13 years ago |
This song is absolutely shaking down to the core. Each note is unbelievably vibrant, and James Blake ties it all together with oozy vocals reminiscent of soft rock artists, oddly enough. He then tunes his own voice to create extravagant harmonies layered in with his chilly bass lines. If you like minimal music with intense soul and passion behind it, Blake's your guy. You could call James Blake "dubstep", but that implies that dubstep is the predominant genre, rather, Blake puts the dubstepness on the back burner, letting it add value to the foreground (As opposed to beefy wobbles that dominate the soundscape)and accentuate his own stylization on an eerie downtempo soulful musical chimera. James Blake doesn't exactly jive with everyone. His work has been criticized as meaningless, but i think his skill is putting as much meaning in as little a package as possible. But that's just like, my opinion, man. Just enjoy the music guys. |
James Blake – Limit to Your Love Lyrics | 13 years ago |
I was listening to this song in class and just about lost myself when the lower bass-line started. My pants may be a bit wet. |
James Blake – The Wilhelm Scream Lyrics | 13 years ago |
Come on MrFog, the beauty of music comes from within. If we perceive beauty and meaning from James Blake's songs, it's just as real as any objective aesthetic beauty or complex musical theory with deep meaningful lyrics. Have you been listening on a radio or headphones/earbuds? A lot of Blake's work is below the perceptual limit of speakers. I think James Blake puts intense emotion in every calculated line of each sound. Even if he's just producing a bunch of garbage, if it means something to people who see something in his music, that is just as meaningful as the enjoyment you may get out of analyzing and criticizing music. We're all in the listening music game to enjoy ourselves, but we don't all look at each part. Actually, one of the things i like about Blake is how minimal and simple some rhythms are. I don't know a lot of music theory, but it's easy for me to understand his work. I think he puts soul into every note, but if you don't hear it, you don't hear it. Just move onto the next thing that catches your ear. Man. |
Handsome Furs – Sing! Captain Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I think it's: And if there's a God, he's a little God because it would follow the pattern of the first line. |
White Lies – The Price of Love Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Here's the legit lyrics from the CD pamphlet: ***** "Don't lay a finger" I said but he held her with five Kissed the crest of her lips And put his hand on her thigh "One million in a week or a the girl's gonna go" "I'd kill you in a second" He laughed, "Yeah, i know" I won eight hundred thousand on a game show But it's not enough to win her back As my tears hit the floor he still said "Come on Man give me some slack" I looked at the case he said "I'll show you her Blood" I screamed down the phoneline "So is this the price of love?" When I stare in your eyes i see the image of god Well girl listen out for the phonecall and pray For a flood I called a quarter past nine and said "I've don All i can" He said "You win some you lose some I feel bad for you man" He slammed down the phone and took his coat From the bed She said "What happens now" "Well to your Husband you're dead" She said "I love you" and pleaded for hero to Stay But knew deep inside that he'd planned it this way "I gave him my heart now he's left it to die and I know I can't go back" He walked out the room shouted "see you around" She said "Come one give me some slack" He said "There's no hope but babe you can wait for that dove" She screamed from the window "So is this the price of love?" So is this the price of love?" ***** The formatting may seem weird, but in the booklet it's formatted to read like poetry. |
White Lies – A Place to Hide Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Though what you said seems plausible, i think it is more of a scuffle with a individual person. He did something terrible and wants forgiveness from his girlfriend/friends etc. |
White Lies – Death Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Straight from the CD insert. So these are the official lyrics: I love the feeling when we lift off Watching the world so small below I love the dreaming when I think of The safety in the clouds out my window I wonder what keeps us so high up Could there be love beneath these wings? If we suddenly fall should I scream out? Or keep very quiet and cling to My mouth as I'm crying So frightened of dying "Relax" Yes I'm trying But fear's got a hold on me. Yes this fear's got a hold of me. I love the quiet of the night time When the sun has drowned in a deathly sea. I can feel my heart beating as I speed from. The sense of time catching up with me. The sky set out like a pathway But who decides which route we take? As people drift into a dream world I close my eyes and my hands shake And will i see a new day? Who's driving this anyway? I picture my own grave 'Cos fear's got a hold of me Yes this fear's got a hold of me Floating neither up or down I wonder when I hit the ground Will the earth beneath my body shake And cast your sleeping hearts awake? Could it tremble stars from moonlit skies? Could it drag a tear from your cold eyes? I'll live on the right side and sleep on the left That's why everything's got to be love or death Yes this fear's got a hold of me. ****** Some of it may not sound right but that's what the CD booklet says, so that's what they are. |
White Lies – The Price of Love Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I'm pretty sure it's "and pleaded for our hero to stay" instead of "and pleaded for a hero to save" |
Handsome Furs – Handsome Furs Hate This City Lyrics | 15 years ago |
In my opinion, this song is about forgetting about modern technology, and opening your heart without the machine. I think it's also about how materialistic people are these days and completely forget about love. Also, it's "Opened my heart, just a machine" |
MGMT – Weekend Wars Lyrics | 15 years ago |

MGMT – Weekend Wars Lyrics | 15 years ago |
