John Frusciante – Nigger Song Lyrics

@[Moety:11774] The second part spells it out completely. It's nonsense, just the drugged out ramblings of a madman, lol. |

Red House Painters – Lord Kill The Pain Lyrics

I don't think it's supposed to be a parody of those typical whiny songs. The song itself is one big dichotomy -- the melody and tempo are very upbeat, the instrumentation sounds like it's a pretty happy song. But anyone who pays attention to the lyrics sees it's the exact opposite.
In terms of the lyrical content, the lyrics are obviously hyperbole for dramatic effect, but the feelings are all very real. |

Why would it be about drugs? That doesn't even make sense given the actual lyrics. Plus, J has been straight-edge since he was a kid. |

I love MBV's lyrics. They almost (or sometimes don't) make no sense whatsoever, but that ties in with how otherworldly and surreal the songs are. And yep, they're pretty much all about sex or love. |

Yeah, he seemed to be really interested in Japan lol. I am too, actually. Pretty interested in learning to read and speak it.
I can totally understand the way Mark felt with this song. I know it's sorta joking, but as paranoid pointed out, he's a bit serious too. |

Deftones – Xerces Lyrics

Pretty sure it was stated (maybe in an interview) that the song was written from Chino's depression, mostly stemming from the fact that all the band members described the process of recording and producing the album as a hellish experience. They didn't even know if they were gonna do another album, let alone finish Saturday Night Wrist.
Lines like "I don't know, I could stay or leave" are directly in reference to that. I'm pretty sure the song has more than one meaning, but this is definitely one of them. |

Got these lyrics straight from the CD liner notes. Pretty amazing lyrics. I've never seen or heard anyone be THIS open about anything in any music. This is such a heart-wrenching album. |

the spy, the glove, the footstep

Airiel – Thinktank Lyrics

A couple of corrections: "that will rescue me" sounds more like "to rescue me". "collect me" should be "protect me". Other than it looks spot on.
Also, thanks for the translation, doublelolly. |

Are the lyrics really in Japanese in those parts? If so, can anyone translate them? This is the song that introduced me to Airiel. Great band. |

Good job with the copy/paste job. Too bad none of that (I only read about five paragraphs then skipped the rest, but it's pretty obvious what it was all about) has anything to do with this song. |

There need to be more lyrics posted. I can't decipher many of their songs' vocals, and can't find any on the net. I even tried contacting the band via myspace and their site, but was met with no response. |

His name is Gza the Genius for a reason I see. I was always listening to Wu-Tang, but I never listened to any of the solo records. This is insane. |

You sound like one of those commoners who thinks every song ever made is about drugs. Don't come on here telling people what the song is about until you give out an actual source. If you can't find a source anywhere - that means the artist doesn't want anyone to know or they decided to keep it up to interpretation.
Get over yourself, kid, you just ain't got it. |

A.R. Kane – Up Lyrics

One of their best tracks, I think the lyrics are pretty straightforward. It's about dying and ascending "upwards" to Heaven. The other few allusions don't make much sense to me, like "Me and the Children and Mama make Seven", but yeah. |

The images that spawned in my mind from reading the lyrics are astounding. Sends you into a nice state of mind. Great song. |

Seems pretty spot on. Either that or a woman wants this guy, and at first it seems like everything is perfect, then he begins to ignore her, treat her like crap, etc. The usual. |

Codeine – D Lyrics

If it's about his dad (which im not doubting), why does he deviate from the normal "D" and say "F" "for floors"? Maybe the F stands for something else? Like failure? |

This song is amazing. Don't see why a lot of these tracks weren't released seeing as how they're so much more awesome than a lot of their later work. |

Isis – Backlit Lyrics

I think all of the studio albums are concept albums. Panopticon came from philosopher Jeremy Bentham's ideal of prison. The album cover supports this, if you notice the overhead, aerial-like view, it just adds to the notion of being watched. It's not much more than that, but it's still awesome.
As for any symbolic meanings, as to the "them" being "us" as society or something...It's possible. Might be an actual meaning. Might be a coincidence. |
