The Dresden Dolls – Half Jack Lyrics

Here WAS the perfect couple; truly equal. But she chased him away by striving for more and now she's not big enough to "house this crowd". Now they are unequal and apart, but she's still in love/attached. |

I can see how anyone who lives and suffers in this world can feel this way. But there are answers, and you don't need to speak directly to "God" to get them. A little reading will do. |

One of the few songs ever dedicated to me. LOL. I had no idea my lover was SO insecure! |

R.E.M. – The Great Beyond Lyrics

This song is about co-dependency and trying to make the problems of an addict seem "normal". The co-dependent is trying to keep life looking as good as possible, he's keeping flowers in full bloom. And since the relationship is falling apart he is trying to find "divine" reasoning to stay in it; looking for answers from the Great Beyond. But it goes great with the movie; Andy falling apart (but trying to keep it together)and looking for Godly intervention to save him from cancer. |

How is it that Cobain's "passion" outshines this? I just don't get it. In one album, Hole outdoes Nirvana's volumes (in my opinion). |

Sometimes we commit to the most foolosh of relationships, but when the real thing comes along we throw out all the rest. Johnette writes about this vividly and emotionally. You can feel her regret over the first relationship. Simple, strong, meaningful, I can go on and on. |

It's aboout corporate power players, corrupt politicians, secret societies, and the plain evil, and/or ambitious. Like most written work it has a double meaning. You can never be too sure of anything. |

The Beatles – Don't Let Me Down Lyrics

Maybe it's just me, but when he says "done me", he could mean done me in. There's too much emotion invested in the chorus to be about a happy ending. And the last part, "do you dig it". He's telling a new girl about a girl who did him in, in the past. The "don't let me down" part doesn't sound too nostalgic, it sounds like he's begging this next girl to understand his past! |

Aerosmith – Dream On Lyrics

I have been listening to this song for the last twenty years and I think it's about a very intense and devastating relationship that might have ended in death. She is the past that at one time was so heart breaking that it made him age prematurely. Yet with the passage of time, the devastation has subsided, hence the lines have cleared; but she still remains in a haunting and lingering way.
His story is unique to him, but an old love story to anyone else. It's been written about by the lame as well as the wise. Everyone knows how it turns out. One should rejoice while the love is there for anything can happen at any time. And it did, so he dreams about her all the time. |

The Beatles – A Day in the Life Lyrics

I think this song is about the media and how it plays with people. "I love to turn you on" refers to the way the media dictates what stories are worth telling and how they arouse people's attention. When the song states, "Now you know how mny holes it takes to fill the Albert Hall," Paul is referring, with sarcasm, how useless some media coverage actually is. |
