I am not an adament Bright eyes defender, nor am I discounting the slight possibility of your analysis being correct. It's just that maybe you are meaning to comment on another song, and you copied and pasted the wroun lyrics, in which case I advise you get your shit straight. Or could it be that you are without any understanding or appreciation for music. Either way, if you had even one iota of sense in your intelligence-barren skull, you should probably keep your mouth shut. I am sorry to steal your thunder, but you just need to focus on making yourself a better critic, not criticizing a grand opus such as this. Just a thought, nothing more. |

The song isn't about going home, it's about getting away from home, the place you are all too familiar with, where you are trapped in monotony. It was written as kind of a foreshadowing-autobiographical tune when Ketch Secor was in High School. It is a phenomenal song, at any rate. |

I thought it was a spiritual song, questioning faith/religion. Human representing free will, dancer representing under the control of a higher being.

in milk thistle it says "if i go to heaven, i'll be bored as hell" or something to that effect. cielo may mean heaven in this context,and blue can mean sad, so maybe "the heavens are sad," making it a boring place to be, ore bored to tears... |
