The Weepies – Riga Girls Lyrics 15 years ago
"Does your heart echo like a hall 'cause there's no one there at all?"

Priceless lyrics.

Nickel Creek – out of the woods Lyrics 15 years ago
This is actually a Sinead Lohan song - both versions are spectacular, but Nickel Creek's is much more mellow and wishful. Lohan's is a little more plaintive.

Rachael Yamagata – Even So Lyrics 15 years ago
I love the change of mood when she sings "do you remember how we used to run in the summertime?"

Just that feeling of nostalgic regret. Beautiful song.

Mandy Moore – Wild Hope Lyrics 15 years ago
I always think of a cold fall day when I hear this song...orange leaves on the street...slightly rainy...and just feeling melancholy in general.

Rachael Yamagata – What If I Leave Lyrics 15 years ago
Sometimes you wonder if you did something drastic, or just disappeared...would he notice? Would he come looking for you THEN?

It's a beautiful song - it conveys the heartache and loneliness and yearning in the perfect way.

Bing Crosby – You Must Have Been A Beautiful Baby Lyrics 15 years ago
I love Bing Crosby. This is such a sweet song.

Counting Crows – Catapult Lyrics 15 years ago
I think this song is just about someone wanting to MATTER. To feel SOMETHING. "I want to be the knife that cuts into my hand..." "I want to be the light that burns out your eyes..."

Sometimes you just need to feel like your existence means something to someone, even if that someone is just you.

Charlotte Martin – Beautiful Life Lyrics 15 years ago
"so swim to the end of the river until there's no shiver left in your spine"

Genius lyrics. Such a great song about nostalgia and regret and acceptance that life isn't all that bad, even if you do wish a few things had turned out differently.

Rosie Thomas – Tomorrow Lyrics 15 years ago
This song has such a yearning in it - it makes me think of just waking up one morning and realizing that don't think you can actually live without this person, and you just want to convey that as soon as possible.

Also, I'm pretty sure the actual lyrics are "What if I told you I could love you?" instead of "lose you."

Louis Armstrong – Don't Fence Me In Lyrics 15 years ago
I always think of "City Slickers" when I hear this song...

Joshua Radin – We Are Okay Lyrics 15 years ago
This song makes me want to take a roadtrip with the windows down with someone who doesn't mind if you sing at the top of your lungs to crappy songs that you secretly like.

Ingrid Michaelson – The Hat Lyrics 15 years ago
I love this song. I just went to my 10 year high school reunion, and saw a guy that I always, always liked, but never told.

"I should tell you that you were my first love..."

All the regret mixed in with nostalgia and wishfulness. A perfect mix.

Glen Hansard & Markéta Irglová – The Moon Lyrics 15 years ago
This song always makes me feel like sometimes you just have to give in and actually feel pain, even when it hurts.

"Cut the bonds with the moon..." in my opinion could mean a few things - gravity and the moon - let go and just feel without any tether to reality. Or it could also mean to let go of any romantic notions about what you're going through, too. The moon makes everyone romanticize things when you're outside.

Just my take.

The Reindeer Section – Whodunnit? Lyrics 15 years ago
I agree with Alyisa - the deadpan vocals add to the illusion that he just doesn't care about anything, until the last section of the song, when he basically "goes off" and you realize that actually, he's a pretty angry, annoyed, and hurt guy.
