i LOVE this song because being a soldier you come across alot of negative views on what it is we do. There is much more to our job than killing and destruction, the good we do rarely gets shown. I love the angle they come from in this song. I'm active duty army, not national guard, but we are all over doing the same thing. We not only defend our country, but we also help those in need worldwide, which makes the sacrafices we make well worth it |

I dont see this as a song simply about losing a girlfriend, its much deeper than that... his relationship is good and brings him alot of happiness, but something else is going on in his life threatening to take it all away... He's refusing to give into it, though he's scared, and he's gonna fight all the way. I think this song is basically about a person who went through something tramatic, due to either a bad decision that was made or just simply being put in a bad sitation.
