Taylor Swift – Tied Together with a Smile Lyrics 14 years ago
Can anyone explain this verse?
I guess it's true that love was all you wanted,
'cause you're giving it away like it's extra change,
hoping it will end up in his pocket,
but it leaves you out like a penny in the rain,
oh, 'cause it's not his price to pay, it's not his price to pay

I see it like she has such a low opinion of herself that she just let guys use her, because for a short time it made it feel like she was loved. But the one guy she really wanted didn't know so didn't love her back, so she just let all these other guys be with her - you're giving it away like it's extra change.

Green Day – Viva la Gloria! Lyrics 15 years ago
This is an amazing song. I think the analyses are perfect so I'm not going to attempt my own. Random point, but I saw an interview with Billie Joe, and they asked him who he would have playing Christian and Gloria if it was made into a movie. For Christian, he said Robert Pattinson, and for Gloria he said Ellen Page.

Green Day – 21 Guns Lyrics 15 years ago
The stuff people have already said about this song is pretty much exactly what I thought about the song.
The only thing I could add is that by using "Lay down your arms" and "Throw up your arms" in which arms means both weapons and your actual arms, it shows how disarming and being peaceful can lead to freedom and happiness-throwing up your arms. I love Green Day :)

Miley Cyrus – 7 Things Lyrics 15 years ago
i heard that this is about nick jonas, but if it is, what's wrong with that? i mean, i absolutely love nick jonas but it doesn't mean i have to hate miley cyrus. she seems loud, yeah, but i think it's more that she is so much more confident than i'm used to. i don't understand how people can claim to hate people like miley who haven't actually done anything wrong and who they've never met. sometimes i do think "woww, she's loud", but i'm not going to judge her because i have never met her in real life. she seems like a happy, caring person as well when you see her in some of her interviews.

i wish people would stop posting what we "should" be listening to instead of "this crap". i like miley cyrus' music, yeah-but i also like so much other stuff, from the chili peppers to the libertines to the cribs. people's tastes are different-how can anyone say that your taste is "bad" when it's up to personal opinion? and i hate music snobbery too. just because this isn't deep, meaningful music, doesn't mean we can't like listening to it because it's fun to listen to. so what if it's not going to go down in history? we can still call it an amazing song, because we love listening to it, and that's what makes it amazing-our own individual opinions.

miley does write a lot of her own songs, and for a 16 year old to have this kind of success from songs that she has written herself-well, i think it's pretty impressive. and finally? if you hate the song so much, don't listen to it. don't read the lyrics. and definitely don't post telling other people how much you hate it. then, you won't have to suffer it and the fans who actually want to talk about it can do without being hated on. miley's audience is made of a lot of kids, too-maybe you should think about the kid you're upsetting before you slate them? or even if they're not a kid-being on the internet doesn't mean you have to lose all decency just because you'll never meet them. it's still being nasty, whether you know them or not.

The Killers – Spaceman Lyrics 15 years ago
I agree with the interpretation that this is about suicide. It just seems to fit, how he (or someone else) attempted, was close to death and so close to hell, then changed his mind, but still thinks about it now. I think songs are allowed to mean different things to everyone though. The artist who wrote it may have a specific meaning for it, but that doesn't mean that anyone else's interpretations are wrong-songs are unique, personal things to everyone.
