The Chariot – Impress. Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I believe this song is about the act of catering to the audience and being tolerant (Impressing) to bring people in but at the same time loosing the message (ministry). Or simply just catering to the audience and forgetting that you become a tool/product. |

The Chariot – Mrs. Montgomery Alabama III. Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Obviously a song about the Christian faith. "Receive my fate" This song really defines the foreword steps in following Jesus. What I like so much about this cd is that it's almost like a "(christian) bible track" because it's its like a quick sermon unto people, speaks to all Christians and inspires as well. |
The Chariot – Abandon. Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I believe that this song is about how Jesus requires that we Love one others in order bring them to redemption in Jesus Christ. He asks "is this a blessing or a curse", such a powerful honest question. It really describes the baggage that goes along with being a Christian in a world fallen from God and in a body that is constantly self seeking. "Should I belong to the trend?" a question many Christians ask themselves "should I follow the way of the world and look out for myself" "At least it's a tragedy that will only come once." I believe this is in reference to the ultimatum of this earth and that we will be at rest with our Father in the end. "A choir of men sing sanctuary in faith." - Just a statement of the beauty of the realization of Christ. "Let's make believe that they are going to live. Madame, I don't know your name, but I know your face." We need to see hope in people coming to Christ and that we can only win souls with love. Doing for others in honor of our Fathers love. "Yeah, they sacrifice, but it costs nothing." Sacrifice = Love, God is Love. We must sacrifice our needs and desires to execute true love unto others. The title "Abandon" I believe refers to abandoning/deny yourself to truly inherit the kingdom of heaven. |
Norma Jean – Scientifiction: I. A Clot of Tragedy Lyrics | 15 years ago |
This awesome song also uses pieces from William Blake's poem "The Human Abstract" you can see the comparison below. Title: The Human Abstract Author: William Blake Pity would be no more If we did not make somebody poor, And Mercy no more could be If all were as happy as we. And mutual fear brings Peace, Till the selfish loves increase Then Cruelty knits a snare, And spreads his baits with care. He sits down with his holy fears, And waters the ground with tears; Then Humility takes its root Underneath his foot. Soon spreads the dismal shade Of Mystery over his head, And the caterpillar and fly Feed on the Mystery. And it bears the fruit of Deceit, Ruddy and sweet to eat, And the raven his nest has made In its thickest shade. The gods of the earth and sea Sought through nature to find this tree, But their search was all in vain: There grows one in the human Brain. |
Underoath – The Only Survivor Was Miraculously Unharmed Lyrics | 15 years ago |
This song is indeed about the continuous cycle of sinning and that it doesn't stop until you come into the realization of the outbreak. "repeat repeat REPENT repeat" This song is actually the origin of most Christians, starting in silence and being torn apart by the world. Then coming to Christ this song is really self explanatory and a wake up call. |
Underoath – Desperate Times, Desperate Measures Lyrics | 15 years ago |
From a Christian stand point: The chorus "when this thing breaks, I will be you you will be me" refers to the true Christian process of breaking the flesh or sin nature and aim to be Christ like (I will be you, you will be me) |
Norma Jean – The End of All Things Will Be Televised Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Here's the skinny on "tonight the south is on fire" it refers to Revalations 18 talks about The Great Babylon ( or the fallen, sinful city) verse 9 of chapter 18 speaks "And the kings of earth who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they see the smoke of her burning, Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas the great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour thy judgment come. Babylon is the south in a broad sense the end is near |
