This is a great song. Jack has always said that a good songwriter just tells a story and lets others interpret it to their own liking. This song is a PERFECT example of that. You can take it at face value as a guy who's jealous. You can also, however, take it deeper. |

Well, we all know that the video is about Jack and Meg's once happy marriage and I'm thinking the song is about the same thing. I, personally don't think they'll ever get over eachother. And if they do I think The Stripes will, God forbid, disband. |

I THINK I FIGURED OUT THE "REMEMBER" AND "DECEMBER" THING!!! Meg's birthday is in December!!! I think he added that because he forgot her birthday. Just like any guy would.

I, personally, think that Jack wrote this to do what any good closer should do, leave people questioning. I think everybody has a different take of this song. All realating to their lives. For me??? It's about someone they love doing somthing very stupid, so they have to protect their someone from somthing coming when or where they wern't expecting. (Looking at the door, it's coming through the floor.) And then wanting to get away to where noone else knows what "lies within you" |
