I adore this song! Definitely brings back old memories. I really do think it's about a guy who is interested in a girl because he specifically says, "the wrong guy, the wrong situation, the right time to roll to me." I mean, by addressing she's with the WRONG guy, it implies he might be the RIGHT guy. I can see it applying to more general situations too, though. "Look into your heart pretty baby, is it aching with some nameless need? If there's something wrong and you can't put your finger on it, right then, roll with me." These lines really, really hit home with me. You know those moments in life when almost everything is going smoothly, exactly how it should be, yet you aren't quite happy? You should feel incredible yet you are left feeling discontent, as if "the engine's stalled and it won't stop raining." I think this song is about a girl who is in a relationship that isn't horrible, but she's still unhappy. She views her life as mediocre. The speaker sees this, and he thinks he can be everything she is looking for, and he's willing to be there as both a friend and lover. |

| Haha...I really am starting to like this band. A bit late, maybe, but hey. And yeah some of these lyrics make me laugh outloud, like "filled up like a sperm bank". But even with some of the lyrics, this band is pretty incredible! | |

| I completely agree with BitstreamData. These people have an amazing sound, but their lyrics...I guess it just isn't my thing. I think they could be brilliant with some other song topics. Just my opinion. | |

| I think there was a girl that he was happy with...then she wasn't the same anymore and things changed. I mean...he says "If you were dead or still alive" implies that there once was something good. Now he's just done with her shit and doesn't want to deal with it. I actually think in this song he's partially trying to convince himself that he doesn't care because he keeps repeating it... Then at the end he really just knows he needs to move on and live his life. I love this song and hope I was close :) | |

Ahh I just heard this song and cannot turn it off! It's so amazing. I totally agree with Strider... I hope people who hear this song realize that yeah, you do have problems. Yeah, lifes a bitch. But guess what? So do I. So does the person you walked past on the streets. So does the person next to you. Everybody has problems. It took me personally my fathers death to appreciate life. But now I know that you are only as happy as you allow yourself to be. Lifes tough but its all we got. It really is how we survive that makes us who we are. (Now I just need my boyfriend to understand that.) |

This song is absolutely beautifully written and raw. My thoughts on the song - when you are with the person you love, you never want them to leave you. It scares you more then anything in the world to think of life without them. This song is about just that - the one you love just left you alone, with your feelings for them still strong. The nightmare you had about that day is now real and you don't know how to handle the new feeling of emptiness, leaving you to feel like you are as useless as items on the roadside. Oh and also - now that this is happening, everything in the past seems to have changed and you can no longer seperate the truth in life from the lies. Your whole world was just turned upside down. What do you do to move on? "Cause I don't know" I'm in love with this song. Hopefully I got the meaning right - this is my first comment :) |
