I don't really think that's what it means at all, though I will say your meaning adds a fresh view to be recognized in this piece. |

Dr. Dog – Unbearable Why Lyrics
|
I think "Unbearable Why" means that the why itself is unbearable. I imagine in corny over-dramatic movies when the man throws his head towards the heavens, fists raised, crying "Why!?" desperately. The question itself is what cannot be contained or accepted.
And yes, this song is absolutely fantastic, but I could never pick a favorite Dr. Dog song because I've never met a one I didn't like. : ) |

Eels – My Timing Is Off Lyrics

This song is hilariously and somewhat depressingly what I went through. Haha, but what can you do? Eels as got it right, "you just gotta be brave enough to love and let yourself be loved." So delicious. A++ |

I totally agree with the unborn child theory, especially because the water shore to shore bit would be amniotic fluid (ew, but also ewsome!) |

Bon Iver – Skinny Love Lyrics

I think this might be about a baby or an infant too weak to survive. "Just last the year" "suckle on the hope in light brassieres" etc, would prove this. |

The Killers – A White Demon Love Song Lyrics

the New Moon soundtrack AND the movie were great. I hated the Twilight movie, and I don't think much of the books, but you're seriously discrediting yourself by saying The Killers are stupid for trying to gain some mainstream popularity for being on the soundtrack to a movie you don't want to go and see. |

The Maccabees – About Your Dress Lyrics

If you watch to the music video, at least the brit version, they have sex. Which leads me to suggest that perhaps it's about losing your virginity, which would make ironic and sadly funny the line "it's just what all young lover's do." |

The National – Ada Lyrics
|
"let them all have your neck" implies a necessity for submission. whoever Ada is, needs to somehow relent on whoever she's controlling. the marriage thing could fit, maybe the protagonist wants her to talk it over with her fiancé or someone close to her (maybe the protagonist), while suggesting she keep everyone guessing, "leave it all up in the air"
i think i agree with the marriage idea, though i'm unfamiliar with Nabokov's 'Ada' |

Wolf Parade – Fancy Claps Lyrics

based on the lines "until then don't tear your hair out/I won't tear it out if you dont," i think it's about two lovers who want to ignore the fact that they're aging and pulling a "i won't get old if you don't." |

Beirut – St. Apollonia Lyrics

Personally I believe he's saying that people who think they're beautiful and wonderful today, will be lost tomorrow. For some reason the building makes me think of churches, but that could just be because he calls the people "saints." |

i've never been to berlin, but maybe morning light is the dawn of the rebirth of Berlin, and the fact that it seems ugly is because it's been so divided and destroyed. (previously) |

i dont think it matters if it's about being gay. it's beautiful and powerful, and it could be a friendship. i've grown up singing "And I Love Her" by the Beatles, and meaning every word. that doesn't make me gay, i funnel it towards people i care about or my boyfriend. they all get the picture. this song is fantastic, if you don't like the lyrics, just listen to the music! |

Beirut – Guyamas Sonora Lyrics

I don't think this is so much a love song as a sort of "look what you've done" kind of deal. He's telling his ex-lover or lover that they've become a worse person and he knows that. it's sort of him rubbing in hard feelings. |
