Amanda Palmer – What's The Use Of Wond'rin' (feat. Annie Clark) Lyrics
| 15 years ago

For the longest time I thought this was just an ironic tribute to the old view of couples. I thought it was supposed to be funny. Until, as it's been mentioned here, I heard the crying for the first time. I was listening to it with headphones on just five minutes ago... And as SOON as I heard the crying everything clicked in my head. Instantly I knew... Abusive relationship. It makes my stomach feel kind of sick. But you can't not appreciate the sheer beauty of it. I absolutely love songs about classic issues restated in a less straight forward manner. |

The Dresden Dolls – Gravity Lyrics

Damn, someone already beat me to posting the real meaning from the songbook. But she/he's right. It's about having back problems and a screwed up body as a kid and blaming it on gravity. A lot of the song doesn't have a direct meaning, but I'm positive Amanda would encourage this creative thinking. |

The Dresden Dolls – The Perfect Fit Lyrics

Why don't you all just go buy the Dresden Dolls companion book? It has the meanings to all the songs off her first album. I have it. The song is actually about her doubting herself as a useful member of society. She wrote it during the days she was a street performer. |
