haha I like how everyone subconsciously related this song to there own problems. The song meaning is pretty obvious. It's about how most people rush through life and dont really slow down to realize the awesomeness that is around them. They just try to do all the right things that arent really right. But society has forced us into these bad habits. So really i think this song is dedicated to anyone who works a full time job and is caught up in the hustle and bustle bullshit. This becomes more apparent considering AC was living in New York when they wrote this. They where observing all these people rushing around for no real reason. Trying to win a "rabbit" which would be the prize at the end, when really all they are doing is developing bad habits like poor eating. |

I think everyone can agree that Radioheads lyrics including this song pertain to just about everything. Thats the point. They're multidimensional and have vast meanings in relation to god and consciousness as well as simple meanings such as adultry and things we experience in everyday life. I dont know how they do it though. I think they're wizards from the future or some shit. |

I think this is about humans denying the real reality of things. An apocalyptic/spiritual change that is coming soon. The infrastructure or "reality" that we have created in this small frequency of infinity is going to collapse. This holographic world that we have come to know as reality isn't going to be so real anymore. But Thom is saying get used to it, and forget about your house of cards that you thought was so important when in the end it was all just an illusion. Denial, denial, denial. This shit is deep. I think it's about God and consciousness as most of there stuff is. People are in a haze of confusion hiding in their homes being fed lies from the television where nothing quite adds up (2+2=5). The world got taken over by satan because people stopped paying attention to god. By god a mean this reality and consciousness that makes it up, not some bearded figure on a cloud. We as a whole forgot that we run this place and it has been destroyed by ego and power. We cant stop it now either, its like Babylon where they tried to have heaven on earth without god. It will eventually slap us in the face. I believe the thief he speaks of isn't necessarily GWB, but the DARK HAND/Illuminati/reptilian humanoids, or whatever it is you believe in controls this planet. They have stolen our souls in a way by controlling our minds, or THE mind that makes it all one. |

This is amazing. I believe what Avey is trying to represent in this song is reaching a higher consciousness by mimicking such a natural thing as water. Being an artist, well being a good artist means being able to take the consciousness of the world and replicate or express it through an art form. When he says "I want to be like water and never have a doubt and reflect what is around my pool" he's basically saying I dont want to doubt the people around me as not being in the same consciousness as me. We as humans are reflections of each other. Our minds come from the same consciousness just put in different bodies. Also in the lines, "when you wake up from your snoozin'
i'll tell you how to do it my way i'll tell you what I'm doin'
there's a knife up in the drawer." I believe he's referring to this low level of spirituality that exists in our western culture. A lot of people are completely spiritually unconscious therefore kind of walking around in a comatose like state working there 9-5's and getting all of there knowledge from the noise box in the corner of there living rooms. Therefore they are "snoozin'" in low vibrations. Most of the answers to finding god are in this song. Something you could learn from a hallucinogenic experience as well.
