I agree with part of what you said. In the end of the music video, when he is singing "And I'll be holding on to you" he point up, as in to the sky, and that is when I thought that this part might be where he is saying he is holding on to God to come out of depression. But the chorus seems more like it is talking about depression. I think this because he is saying the "you are (...) twisting the kaleidoscope behind both of my eyes", which to me means that depression is making him see things differently, twisting his thinking, his "left-side brain". Those are my two cents. BUT music is always subjective, which is the beauty of it. |

I had the same interpretation. Especially because I am feeling these exact things. It's almost as if I had written it, except if I actually had it would be awful, and not this amazingly sexy song, as you said, and I concur! |

Actually, The Amory Wars Volume 1 goes with their first album called Second Stage Turbine Blade. The very first song on that album already illustrates Coheed having killed his children. |

This is my favorite song on this album. I have not been a long-time fan, and mostly the songs I listen to by them are their singles (judge me, if you want), but the bigger reason I like them is because, to me, they are an enormous source of inspiration. Whenever I listen to ANY of their songs I feel empathy for whatever cause they're singing about, and it makes me want to be a better person. Even though their hardcore fans say they aren't the same anymore, that their older albums are much better, these guys still deserve the praise they get all over the world, because they sing for important causes, mostly, and that makes all the difference. Other bands should aspire to be more like them. Also, I think they're still pretty amazing. |

I don't think this song is about a relationship at all. The way I've always interpreted it is that he says we care too much about things that don't really matter in the end, and that those things become our enemies in the end.
But I guess we all have different views of everything, which is why music is so amazing.
And I love this song, never get tired of it. |
