Ian Curtis wrote this song about his feelings towards his wife. He got married too young and haven't really got that chance to explore and meet different women. He loves Debbi so much, but he's got that part of him that wants to be somewhere else. Basically Love & Bored. He never hated Debbi, he was just bored of their relationship. He didn't feel interested in her since he already knows her and experienced life with her, but at the same time he didn't want her to leave. "Walk in silence/Don't walk away, in silence." Ian Curtis was not crazy, he had one of the most beautiful and creative minds of all time. He had so much on his plate: Debbi, his family, his fans, his seizures, the other girl he was seeing. He was just buried in stress and sadness that he wanted to end the pain by killing himself. Not many people are born as strong as others, and that goes for mental strength and physical strength. We all look the same on the inside but we all function differently. I just wish he didn't end his life so we could all could feel the love he had for music for generations. But his legacy lives on. |

this song is about a guy who kept her hanging. hence the lyrics. it's just sad cause she really liked him, but he was just too shady. so he misses out, "ooooooh she's a runaway." she's saying that it's too late to undo what he's done. and she's over it and moving on cause she deserves better than to be treated that way. |

i can relate. hehe. i'm in the situation. i guess basically. you make the same mistake for having the mentality of "i've invested too much time with the person." you stay because the person is worth it? why is everything so locked up. why does this person have such a sturdy wall? haha im just ranting. idk what my point is. |
