Porcupine Tree – The Rest Will Flow Lyrics 16 years ago
I really love the line 'Now I don't feel low' because it definitely seems to have a connection to the song 'Feel So Low' also from Lightbulb Sun. But I'm not sure if Steven Wilson put it there on purpose so that the album is tied together better, or if it was accidental.

Porcupine Tree – How Is Your Life Today? Lyrics 16 years ago
My first instinct about the lyrics of this song is that they are about a couple living an empty, boring life. The letters pile up, and nobody cares about them. The narrators wife kisses him every day before he leaves from his boring house in the taxi, and the days seem to go on forever, and nothing interesting ever happens. It reminds me of people living in a neighbourhood that you might see in a movie, where every house is exactly the same, and every couple is the same, etc. The actual music also reminds me of this. And each day the narrator wonders how his life is?
Unfortunately, this doesn't fit with the milk cancelling, and no voices through the walls, or the cat. So I think I'd have to agree with Dr. Strangefist on this one. But I just thought I'd throw my opinion in.

Porcupine Tree – In Formaldehyde Lyrics 16 years ago
The lyrics in the 4th stanza are actually

'When I got out of here
You get to keep the car
And I get a plastic vase'

Hopefully I don't just have a weird version of the song.

Opeth – Closure Lyrics 16 years ago
Crujebsul - Pathos is when something brings out your emotions, like when a sad movie makes you cry. I'm not really sure if that fits into the lyrics though.

Porcupine Tree – Open Car Lyrics 16 years ago
Does anyone get anything out of the fact that the song turns soft and acoustic at the end, while the rest of the song is heavier? I think this could represent a sort of resolution. But it might be just to make the song sound good, and end nicely.

Porcupine Tree – Anesthetize Lyrics 16 years ago
For anyone who didn't know, I'm pretty sure Fear of a Blank Planet was based on the novel Lunar Park by Bret Easton Ellis, which I'm currently reading. And I noticed that the first line of the book is "You do an awfully good impression of yourself." And the first line of this song is "A good impression of myself."

I know in the book the first line is meant as an insult based on a Hallowe'en costume, but I'm not sure what it means in this song.

If I find more similarities I will post them.

Outrageously good song, by the way.
