Regina Spektor – Ode to Divorce Lyrics | 16 years ago |
oh and listening to it with the volume up, the heartbeat is pumping throughout the whole song. i hadn't heard that before. i love things like this; that just get better and better every time you listen. |

i might have missed it...but...no one has yet commented on the heartbeat that opens and closes this song. in the beginning it doesn't make sense. at the end, it's like...amazingly beautiful and so solitary and full of pain and sorrow..where as at the beginning no one really knows what it's leading into. that heartbeat at the end makes this song for me, personally. it hurts me more than any of the lyrics, though they are amazing too. regina spektor, marry me. |

This song always reminds me of the song 'Without You' that Eliza Doolittle sings to Henry Higgins in My Fair Lady =] |

Missy Higgins – Sugarcane Lyrics | 16 years ago |
drcynic, learn some manners and respect. you taint this page, this site is designed for opinions and ideas to be shared and bounced off each other in order to uncover the meaning "between the lines." people like you should not be tolerated on here. i think we'd all appreciate it if you just kept quiet. who agrees? ----------------------------------------------------------- as for this song, i think it's really something we have to leave up to Missy to decode. i dont think any of this song is hinting at obvious and stereotypical metaphors. i think, if anything, it's possibly life experinces or realationships with other people in her life that would influence such lines as: But know they'll chase you if you play their little games So I can dance here with my hair down But I don't see if you get bitter And there's a button there right beside me If I happen to want a wall to hide me And she said always be afraid yeah you should always be afraid And also- not everything is always designed to be deciphered...with this song, i like to rather just listen and enjoy it for what it is, not what it could possibly mean. i think its meant something different to everybody who's ever heard it. |
