Minus the Bear – Fooled By The Night Lyrics | 13 years ago |
It reminds me of my ex who, after years of time a part and another 3 yr relationship with a guy as spectacular as a paperclip, had so much pent up life not lived that she sought any means to try and capture it. She frowned upon my one nighters, then all things changed once she saw how boring things for her were. So she traded her uggs for some heels and hit the pavement determined to screw a random or two to feel as though she's living. She didn't care who it was, just someone with enough game to make her feel like a million that night. I think it was beyond lust at that point, rather just infatuation with the act, the surroundings, and usually insignificant details. After writing that, I'm glad I found someone else. Her heels click on the sidewalk adding tempo to the sound of the city living hard this ain’t no one bar town Holding a new hand she don’t know his last name she doesn’t need the anguish or the pain |

Minus the Bear – The Pig War Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I feel like this songs is more about finding the right person for you after a while a fumbling around with others. Also enjoying where you are right now with them. Speaking personally now I've been in relationships that haven't been too fulfilling, we may have done things together but it feels so much sweeter now: "it's been so long that it seems that i've never danced with anyone" That person helps you slow down or makes you want to in order to just enjoy life now and not worry about the future...just sit back enjoy some wine, with a view (good or bad its always good with that person, and slow down. |
Coldplay – Glass of Water Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I read a Chris Martin interview somewhere and he said he didnt include some of the songs, namely glass of water on the full length because it didn't fit the style they were trying to go for. Life in Techincolor I feel fit better as an intro/outro song but I also like it as a normal song. As for Glass of Water, I think the word he used was that it was to "flashy" or "sexy" not sure but something to that extent. Personally I feel this song could put down any one of the songs on Viva. I think his intentions were to make sure each song on Viva get the appropriate amount of listens....if they put this song i feel like i would have put it on repeat and not appreciate the rest of the CD. To some extent i did that with Viva la Vida (song), i believe Glass of Water could definately contest that song...It has a hint of old Coldplay, deep lyrics, that rolling piano in the background while still upholding their new faster pace...i wish they'd go back to their old style i miss it |

Sleep Station – All That Remains Lyrics | 15 years ago |
i think the lyrics are pretty self explanitory...it confuses me though because all their albums have themes so it could me about a lost friend in a war...or a lost love in life,,,, |
New London Fire – I Sing the Body Holographic Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Does anyone else like the piano that comes through on some of the choruses...i think it makes the song...also to add to my previous post and to what pelicanssss was saying And we'll sing every song that comes into our brains. I like the ones that make you smile You like the ones that I can't play. I think songs arent just songs they are actions or something...he wants to do what makes her smile, what makes her happy...but what she wants, her songs are things he can't do or provide |

your so right...such a great song...i love the fast tempo...the best lines The images broke apart in me Medicine clouds my mind and I keep on thinking I have died somewhere inside, but my body is still alive. I think it has to do with the guy being depressed...he has to take antidepressants to keep going but hes affraid that medicine will make him numb to the world...that he'll die inside, losing all emotion, feeling. He fears he'll just become another robot going through the motions. |

My favorite song...the way they blend the pianos and guitars with vocals mix to give you hope with a sad undertone... |
New London Fire – Tonight Lyrics | 15 years ago |
just a great song....probably the my second favorite song from New London Fire...We Dont Bleed being my first...not sure of the full meaning of the song but in general its about someone finding that right one but that person i guess isnt around Sun is coming up and I think of where you've been you'd feel a little impatient if you were living in my skin. The words just fade in my ear. I could take it all but I'm not living when you're not here. I love this verse...anyone in that position can connnect..you know the person you care about just isn't there for what ever reason maybe you pushed them away maybe they just are far from you...you aren't complete with out them but the tone of the song leads me to believe that...maybe she jus wont acknowledge him, that he's being a dreamer...sometimes the other person just doesnt know how much the other cares for them...all the other words of consolation don't do, they just fade...ultimately he feels he would be a better person with her around but shes not...hes incomplete And I feel so cold in the middle where my heart goes. I'll get it right what I'm feeling and believing if I get home tonight. The emptiness of the lose just gets to him, the waiting being on the fence not know where he stands its killing him he doesnt know what to think or believe he just need to get back to a place that hes comfortable..."home" (back to normal) The look on your face you can't take away I'll wait for it everyday. There's a picture I have of you in my mind you look so perfect and the sun just burns in your eyes. As the hours fade you remain underneath the sweat and skin that you betray. What a horrible thing memory can be...all he can see it her greatness...to him she's worth it, worth waiting...or trying to at least....the last line drives this home...time may pass other memories fade but she was so strong shes the only thing he can manage to think about.... I did my best on that one...dont know if its right |
John Mayer – Wheel Lyrics | 15 years ago |
nd if you never stop when you wave goodbye You just might find if you give it time You will wave hello again You just might wave hello again The best part of that song by far....its such a great way of saying if it was meant to be it'll be....great break up song too...it leaves you feeling kinda feeling alright about the whole thing but at the same time hitting your heart the right way...It plays into the whole "I sad and want to listen to a sad song" The melody too keeps you relaxed through the whole song gives you a feeling like everything is gonna be alright...the last lines really help you believe that it really will I believe that my life's gonna see The love I give Return to me |
Death Cab for Cutie – Marching Bands of Manhattan Lyrics | 16 years ago |
i really think death cab does a great job at capturing pure emotions no only with words but their guitar and beats at the end of this song...i think if sadness/frustration/loneliness could have a sound it would be the end of this song...the piano by end over powers you i think its amazing |
