I love this song. I think it's all about a guy or girl who has nothing but his dreams, he wishes to accomplish more in life, he dreams his life turns out for the best than it is now and so: Well work it out someday If I could see something You can see anything you want boy If I could be someone- You can be anyone, celebrate boy. You women are evil. For me this song represents how my ex girlfriend feels now (not being cocky, she tells me so), we were together for 3 years and she went to study to a city far away and left me for another guy after 3 years and all the sacrifice and things I gave her. Eventually she came back, but we were never back together, we just tried and tried for about one year and a half. Now I put an end to it and started seeing another girl and now she is regretting it deeply crying every night, she regrets everything she's done and how little effort she put into getting together back again. |

The fact that it was based on a book doesn't mean it is about it. I do think it is adapted to a relationship that is over. But he feels so much anger that he became obsessed with killing her and putting an end to his pain. Contrary to everyone else I believe that the "you'll love me too" is about how she will try to persuade him not to kill her. "know your already dead you'll love me too you'll look down on me, with eyes of endless tragedy try and stop the pain, but there's never closure find your solace in what you could have been" As in she knows she's gonna die and tries to get out of it by saying that she loves him. |

How does this song has so few comments? It's just awesome. Like all songs from Konk. I think it is about a relationship that is over and he still tries to make things right and sees hope. While she didn't leave the past totally behind her she doesn't see any future for it and is moving on with another guy, since she only sees the sun fall it means she still thinks and talks about it but sees no hope for them. I also think in the song he shows some regret for always being there for her, always up to having something with her and now she's with someone else. |

Ok. I see many people over offended of others stating every song Queen made is about sex and AIDS. Others saying it is about drugs --' Besides the stupidity there is a lot of naivety and denial. This song is not about drugs. The word Ecstasy is referring the taste of mind of a person. This song was written before ecstasy was mainstream and before Freddy Mercury did drugs (and he never did Ecstasy). Most of all this song is about being on a high, an incredible non-stoppable happiness. About just wanting to have fun. It is a drug and AIDS free song. And IT HAS a strong reference to sex. It's more than obvious in the lyrics and most of all in Freddy Mercury life, he loved sex with both sexes (just like it shows in the song). You could call the song ambiguous but it's obviously about happiness with it's touch of sexual pleasure (if not most of the happiness achieved sexually). I don't agree Queen songs are most related to sex or AIDS or drugs. Many obviously are in many ways but they don't stick just to that. This is one of the best Queen songs in my opinion. I just can't be sad when listening to it and feel unstoppable. I wish Freddy Mercury was still among us, he is the best musician ever (And I was just 2 years old when he died). Just hope he keeps having a ball wherever he is! |

iloveheralot, if you have that interpretation you can only be gay... Anyway I believe the song is about him reflecting his position now in his life. It isn't taking him anywhere. He tries very hard to move out of that situation, he even sometimes believe he is moving on but something always keeps him stuck. Everytime he looks at the life he had so far memories push him down and don't let him move. Personally I believe it is about a girl all the mess in his life. |

Just to add something. "No eyes to see the heaven beside me My time is yet to come" Even though she talks about heaven followed by a sentence related to death, I believe that by saying "beside me" she means that she can't see how wonderful life is. Heaven is just right there next to her but she doesn't see. |

I think all can be right. Personally when I hear this song I associate somewhat with what truancy08 said. Cos it's my life currently. I'm currently in a relationship where I once knew what love was but not anymore, still I can't live without her even if all feelings inside me are all drained out I still belong to her because I don't know anything else besides my relation with her. Even though she might not be the "perfect soul" for me I'm hers... I feel that's what the song is about, although all the other options are just as right. |
