Patrick Wolf – The Sun Is Often Out Lyrics | 15 years ago |
This is such a sad song. But you missed the line at the end: And the poem reads And I remember the day you told me that The sun, the sun, the sun, the sun is often out Why didn't you KNOW that? That last line, "why didn't you KNOW that", is the most powerful in the song I think. It's like Stephen gave advice about going through hard times, but didn't really take to heart what he was saying. |

Patrick Wolf – Peter Pan Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I think it's about learning how to cope with conflicts in life. You can faulter and stumble around like he does at the beggining, you can stay away and stay a boy forever like peter, or you can choose to take things lightly and not let them effect you (dance across the battle) but take action when it's really needed (punch straight through that wall). I love this song. Like you said red pen, it's very simple, which is why it's so effective. |
Patrick Wolf – Overture Lyrics | 15 years ago |
This song seems to be written about me. It's time I opened up now. Thankyou Patrick. You've saved me. |

Why does it matter if he's gay or not? I don't get it. What's the problem? |
Radiohead – 2 + 2 = 5 (The Lukewarm) Lyrics | 16 years ago |
It's clearly based on the novel 1984. you can see Winstons transition into love of Big Brother at the end But it's not Maybe not Also, during the "pay attention" bits, the lines: Yeah, I'm not feeling it Yeah, I need it Yeah, I love it |
Emmy the Great – The Hypnotist's Son Lyrics | 16 years ago |

Lior – Daniel Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I think it's about him suddenly being reminded of an old friend who he'd lost contact with. Sometimes you can be very close to someone for a while but slowly you lose touch, drift apart and all of a sudden they are completely forgotten. Then one day you are reminded of your past friendship and you think back to all the good times you spent together and wonder how all that could have just been forgotten about. I think Daniel is about something like that. |
The Beautiful Girls – When I Had You With Me Lyrics | 16 years ago |
wow, only 3 comments? This song is fabulous! I've learnt it on guitar and I sing it whenever I'm missing my man. I always feel that it's about him being away on tours and not being with his wife/girlfriend. Even if that's wrong, I like my interpretation. It reminds me of a time when I didn't go a single second without thinking of my man, haha! Love it. |
The Beautiful Girls – La Mar Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I love this song, it is beautiful and calming. "I've grown old on this ocean, gave her all my stronger years. Gave my wife my devotion, and when she died, the ocean, my tears." I listen to this song over and over just for those lines. gorgeous. |
Jack Johnson – With My Own Two Hands (with Ben Harper) Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Make the world a better place. this is a beautiful song. |
Jack Johnson – The News Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I think this song poses such a good question about society. How can we watch the news and see something like "37 innocent people have been killed in a car bombing attack in Iraq" and not be affected by it? They are lives lost, hundreds of people in mourning and we barely bat an eyelid. It's wrong. There should be some sentiment in it, though if they did that the world would be far too miserable. I suppose reporting bad news straight is the only way to do it. |
Jack Johnson – Brushfire Fairytales Lyrics | 16 years ago |
i love the control over the tempo on the "Slow down everyone" parts. It really adds meaning because it's so pulled back and makes you slow down to listen to it. |
Jack Johnson – Upside Down Lyrics | 16 years ago |
i love this song as well as Walk Alone. |
Jack Johnson – People Watching Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I think it's about how people say they're lonely but they really only are because they're living in their own world and not acknowledging anyone else. There are so many lonely people who wouldn't be if they stopped just watching eachother and started a conversation. "I see so many feet going so many ways People passing by they got nothing to say" This reminds me of the city when it's busy. In the streets is a huge crowd of people who are all together in the same place but totally disconected from eachother. |
Jack Johnson – Wrong Turn Lyrics | 16 years ago |
It's about a man who's woman has left him and he wants her back. I always imagine he's asked her to meet him somewhere and, although he doesn't think she's going to show, he's waiting for her. As it gets later and later he's making excuses for her, like that she's taken a wrong turn, so he doesn't have to face the fact that she's left him. it's a very sad song but i love it. |
The Cat Empire – Panama Lyrics | 16 years ago |
no comments? this is a great song. I love a song I can think about and the line "i love things that seem impossible" gets me going every time. |
