Not doing the same old, same old in the suburbs like a "normal" person. I like this song a lot, especially the drums at the beginning. | It disguists me to even think that someone would listen to music because it is "popular" and because "everyone else does it". That is just lame. Anyone who does that must be pretty damn stupid. Personally, I love Nirvana. The lyrics are so great and the music sounds so awesome, but they didn't have to make it fancy and intricate for it to sound good. It is just good music that doesn't have to be changed. Everyone seems to have a different opionion on this song. Some are saying it is about the fans, about listening to music for wrong reasons, or memories from his childhood. Why does it have to be just one? This song can be interpreted in many different ways depending on your own state of mind. Maybe it included both ideas: childhood and the types of fans? | |

This is really such a great song. I think John is saying that you have to accept who you are and what your fate is. "Going nowhere's the only clear shor, at being somewhere the fates think you're not." You can only avoid fate by not doing anything. I think at the beginning, when he says "Omit myself (take myself from your eyes) Omit myself as a favor to God" it almost sounds like, "No one wants me, not even God, so I might as well get rid of myself." And then by the end, it is like a revelation of how important fate really is. This song is amazing, I love the chord progession. |

In my opinion, this is a song about a girl who is either being dramatic and making a scene or is really attractive and catching everyone's attention. Her looks and her attitude are causing a "storm" and the whole shouting for help thing is just exagerrating the fact that shes starting such a ruccus. Peppers forever. |
