The song is about Marin county in California. It's a VERY uppercrust area (I think the guy who made Star Wars has his little ranch there). The song is specifically criticizing the yuppie ex-hippies who no longer give a shit about the environment they were so adamantly in the defense of in their youth. They just ignore the slow decline of the world around them, but even when ignored it is still there (The first chorus is on the real beach, covered in pollution, bathed in real moonlight. The other one is the hot tub, the artificial "beach" with "electric moonlight". Even when ignored, there'll always be a real moon above marin, ergo the pollution). |

I have nothing against people who dress "punk", but it pisses me off when some fucker walks up to me and makes some snide ass comment about my hair length (Whenever I shave my head I'm guaranteed to get someone who mistakenly assumes that I must be a skinhead, while I doubt any of the people who approach me realize that being a skin has nothing to do with racism/facism anyway). Just last week I had to walk out of the club to prevent myself from spitting in the face of this kid with a fucking three foot tall, atomic red mohawk who took one look at my coat and uttered this gem,
"If you aint got studs then you aint shit."
I just laughed and turned for the exit. |

I really doubt it is the fake "I, Robot" thing. It seems too condescending. It would be like Danzig going, "Ha ha, I tricked all my loyal fans into thinking this song that they attach emotional and personal involvement in means anything." Danzig may be a dick sometimes, but I've never seen/heard of him disrespecting his fans. |

I don't think there's any meaning to this song. Don't get me wrong, Danzig does use alot of metaphor and satire in his songs, just not this one.
And there was nothing wrong with the '04 Dawn of the Dead remake. It's one of the best zombie movies I've seen in awhile. Certainly better than fucking "Shaun of the Dead", which tries (and, I'll admit, momentarily succeeds) at being funny, before just becoming a below average horror-gore with Queen playing in the background. |

Maybe this is the beginning of Glenn's disdain with the "punk scene". Having been thrown in jail because of the way he looked probably made him more than a little upset. I think the lyrics are directed more towards other judgemental "punks", not the police. He's satirizing how all "punks" have to look and act the the same ("Make sure your face is clean, can't have no dirty dead").
Or maybe I'm overestimating his intelligence and he was just bored in jail and threw some words on a piece of paper to pass the time. Whatever. |

I believe he has said that the song "Mother" was a metaphor for the damaging actions of Tipper Gore and the PMRC. A metaphor for blossoming into a beautiful young "punk"? "Inhuman in your midst" is self-explanatory, "can't remember my name" meaning the loss of an identity recognized by society, etc. |
