Lindsay Lohan – Confessions Of A Broken Heart Lyrics 14 years ago
Just like a lot of people that have commented, I can completely relate to this song.

My mother and I left my dad when I was around 3 because he had a pretty bad drug problem. He never looked after me and never really had anything to do with me, and it's one of the many reasons I can't stand him to this day. But the line "I don't know you, but I still want to" really hits home for me. Every time I hear that part of the song, and with the emotion Lindsay sings it (you can almost hear her voice cracking, as if she's just about to break into tears), I just have to cry. Even though I never really got to know my dad, I'd still love to know more about him and have him in my life, but sadly I don't think that will ever happen.

Gahhh, this song is just so heartbreaking... :(

David Banner – Play Lyrics 15 years ago
Haha, this song is so ridiculously dirty, but you have to admit that it's really catchy!

I have no idea why people get so upset over songs with sexual lyrics. How do you think you ended up here? Sex is a part of life; it's fun, it keeps the world populated, loosen up a little. And yes, I am a girl.

Good Charlotte – Emotionless Lyrics 15 years ago
This song always makes me cry rivers when I listen to it because I can completely and totally relate to it. My dad left me and my mom when I was about 3 and it's been at least a year since I've seen him; he's a total stranger in my life. The lines "when you lay your head down, how do you sleep at night? do you even wonder if we're all right? but we're alright, we're alright" are probably the lines I can relate to the most. My mother has raised me well, but sometimes I wonder if my life would be better, if I would have more privileges, if I had had a father figure around.

Really sad song, but it gives me some comfort knowing I'm not the only one going through the same type of pain.

Avril Lavigne – Tomorrow Lyrics 15 years ago
I usually listen to this song on repeat when I've had an exceptionally bad day. Because to me this song is about when you're upset, and someone tries to tell you that everything is going to be alright. You want to believe them so badly, but you can't because they really don't understand. You want everyone to just leave you alone until you're okay. But then you realize "Hey, there's always tomorrow", and you move on, and the next day IS better than the day before.

Always get a little teary listening to this song, but it really helps me cope when I'm not in the best place mentally.

This Providence – Letdown Lyrics 15 years ago
I especially love this line, "She was a drug I abused". I don't know why, but it just sounds really poetic and I love it. XD

It's pretty obvious that it's about a girl he was dating and how he fell for all the crap she put him through, and then after he realizes what a waste of time she was.

Loveee this song. <3

Green Day – Waiting Lyrics 15 years ago
As cliche as it is, this song will be on repeat the day I graduate. I have a lot of crazy plans after highschool and this song describes how I feel about them perfectly. Definitely one of my favorite songs of all time.

Lifehouse – From Where You Are Lyrics 15 years ago
This is one of those songs that has a really universal meaning. If you can't apply it to your life in some way, then I can only assume that you aren't human.

I'm off to university in the very near future, and even though it's only a couple hours away from home, I still won't have my family and old friends. And after university I have plans to teach English in Japan, thus I'll be thousands of miles away, not just a couple hundred ("These miles have torn us worlds apart"). This song definitely hits home for me in a big way.

"I miss all the little things
I never thought that they'd mean everything to me"

That line just kills me. It's almost strange how you never notice all the things you have with the people you love until you don't have them anymore. That's when you really start to reminisce and feel absolutely lost in the world; everything has lost its purpose.
I can't listen to this song without shedding quite a few tears, and I'm pretty sure it will always have that effect on me.

Deborah Cox – Beautiful U R Lyrics 15 years ago
I love this song! I can relate to it so well.

It's all about being yourself and never letting anyone bring you down. As I stated before, I know the feeling of being brought down by others all too well, so this song really hits home for me. In school I'm always criticized for my passions and interests because they aren't exactly normal for a typical teenager. Sometimes it does bring me down, but as this song promotes very well, I have learned to pick myself up and keep going, no matter what anyone has to say about me.

The world needs more songs like this one, especially when girls are under so much pressure in this day and age.

Beyoncé – Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It) Lyrics 15 years ago
I agree, I didn't like this song at all the first few times I heard it, but now I just love it! It's one of those songs that has the potential to be repetitive and annoying, but that's what makes it so catchy.

As for the meaning, quitejaded hit it right on the head. She's with another man at a club (we're assuming they're engaged), her ex sees them and gets jealous.

Taylor Swift – Fifteen Lyrics 15 years ago
I wouldn't say this song is true to every single girl that is or was fifteen, but in general it's a song a lot of girls can relate to in some way or another.
When I was fifteen I definitely could not relate to the whole "chasing the boys" thing, because I wasn't and still am not ready for the responsibility of it just yet. But having the best friend who you go through everything with, and the feelings you have the very first day of highschool, I can most certainly relate to those things.

I'm really not a fan of country music, but I love how Taylor puts a little pop twist on the genre. It's what makes her music listenable for me. (:

Beyoncé – Smash Into You Lyrics 15 years ago
I absolutely love this song. Love doesn't even begin to describe it, actually. It's just so unbelievably beautiful. The lyrics, the melody, everything about it is perfect. The meaning is quite simple and straightforward; loving someone so much that you just want to smash into them and be with them for the rest of your life.

Paramore – Decode Lyrics 15 years ago
At first I didn't really care much for this song, but after hearing it countless times on MuchMusic it has grown on me.

"The truth is hiding in your eyes
And it's hanging on your tongue
Just boiling in my blood
But you think that I can't see
What kind of man that you are
If you're a man at all
Well, I will figure this one out
On my own"

That perfectly describes how Bella feels towards Edward before she knows his secret. Love it. :)

Beyoncé – If I Were a Boy Lyrics 15 years ago
She knows about all those typical guy activities (chasing the girls, staying out late with the guys, etc.) and how they usually tend to hurt the girl they are in a relationship with. So she's saying that if she were a boy, even for just a day, she would be the best man she could be because she knows from personal experience how it feels to be hurt by the man she's in love with.

I usually don't like Beyonce's songs, but this one has a really special place in my heart. (:

Brooke Fraser – Faithful Lyrics 15 years ago
Since Brooke's lyrics are heavily influenced by God and religion, the first thing that comes to mind is that she's talking about God.
But, as I'm not a very religious person, I always take this song as a love song, and it makes a gorgeous one at that. Very, very gorgeous.
I love how easily you can twist her song lyrics into anything you want them to mean. (:

Brooke Fraser – C.S. Lewis Song Lyrics 15 years ago
I'm actually not sure how to interpret this song, or why it's called C.S. Lewis Song, but I do know that it's one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard, seriously.

Like undeniabledreamer said, it makes you want to just go outside and stare at the stars. But personally, I think it's one of those songs that you listen to driving down a long highway, it's got that really haunting melody that fits the mood.

The Midway State – Nobody Understands Lyrics 15 years ago
Really obvious meaning in this song.

He's singing about a guy who's dating a girl that everyone assumes is an awful person; the outcast girl per say. But to the guy, she's his whole world. He doesn't see all the negative things everyone else sees in her, he only sees perfection.

Fefe Dobson – The Initiator Lyrics 16 years ago
Love this song.

It's got an obvious meaning; she's tired of the whole "guy starts the sexual encounters" idea, so she's turning the tables on this guy she seems to be so attracted to in the song. The ultimate girl power song if you ask me.

Alexz Johnson – Deeper Lyrics 16 years ago
This song is so, so amazing. I've been trying to figure out exactly what the lyrics mean, but haven't had much luck. If it's really obvious, I'm going to feel so stupid, lol. XD

Anyway, this is definitely my new favourite song.

Apocalyptica – I Don't Care (feat. Adam Gontier) (Original Version) Lyrics 16 years ago
I can so relate to this song.

'I try to make you see my side'

It sounds like he's trying to get someone to see from his point of view. The person treats him like shit without even knowing him for who he is on the inside. In the end he gives up and tells them he doesn't care if they're alive or dead; he's had enough of their shit.
It might not be exactly what the song is about, but I see it like that because I'm having a similar problem with someone.

Amazing song. (:

3 Doors Down – Let Me Be Myself Lyrics 16 years ago
bassisr10486, I totally agree with you, but I see the song in a totally different perspective.
I think it's because I've experienced many times where I've felt like certain people are wanting me to be someone different because of the way I am as a person. So to me, this song is about not changing for anyone, not matter what they tell you.
I don't think I've ever been able to relate to a song so well. It's amazing.

The Used – Smother Me Lyrics 16 years ago
This song is so beautiful. The melody is really simple and calm, and Bert's voice totally shines through. He has an amazing voice, and I think he needs to showcase it more like he does in this song. (:
Also, the meaning is so obvious, no hidden messages here. He loves a girl, messed up somehow, and wants her to love him back again, just like how she used to. As for the whole "smothering" he talks about, maybe he wants her to smother him with her love? LOL I have no idea, that's just my take on it.

AND, the quesadilla techno thing at the end made me laugh, simply for the fact that it was so random. XD

Natasha Bedingfield – Pocketful of Sunshine Lyrics 16 years ago
Gosh, how I adore this song.

To me, the meaning of it is quite straight-forward; She's not gonna let anyone bring her down and she wants to be happy and free.

This is a great feel-good song, it really cheers me up when I'm down.

Britney Spears – Sugarfall Lyrics 16 years ago
In fact, this is a Britney song, it just didn't make the cut on her Blackout album. Thought I'd clarify that.

Personally, I really love this song. I think it's about her still lusting after an ex, and even him also lusting after her in return, but she knows it isn't the right thing because they're over and he's got another girl. This line:

"Oooh, I’m having second thoughts
See my hearts on fault
Could you pass my shorts?
Don’t you got a girl?
Till then
I’m sorry, you must wait
Especially since I know
You love it, you love it"

is what really sticks out to me. The guy wants her, but she's telling him no because she heard about his girlfriend.
I'm not 100% sure, but I kinda feel like that's what this song is about.

A Cursive Memory – Perfect Company Lyrics 16 years ago
This is pretty much my favourite song of all time. I literally made an account just so I could comment it. XD

It's basically a simple, cute, straightforward love song. He's singing to a girl about how much she means to him and how much he loves her. And I think the line "everything is gonna be okay someday soon" symbolizes that as their relationship progresses, everything will work out and be okay in the end.

Very, very beautiful song.
