Laura Marling – Cross Your Fingers Lyrics | 15 years ago |
i think it could be about the stereotype of love? "cross your fingers", hope it turns out that way "we are all going to die when the building blows", no one is perfect. does it really matter anyway? "you'll give up your whole life me me", what a man is supposed to do for a woman. it's supposed to make him a better man for it but it doesn't, it just makes him vunerable "jumped into your grave and died" it does have some religious connotations, but i think the overall meaning is what i have outlined. nice song though |
Santigold – I'm A Lady Lyrics | 15 years ago |
she's saying she's a strong minded independant woman. these are so few and far between she feels its something to sing about and that people will be so impressed that she will probably become a martyr. but then she still goes on to say your so pretty, see how far you can get. because she is attractive she will always been seen as nothing more than a woman; an object, therefore only capable of stereotypical behaviour. |
Feist – Gatekeeper Lyrics | 15 years ago |
simplified it's about summer lust? maybe summer romance where time is spent together before school begins and work loads up in winter. and things die maybe? things die in winter the gatekeeper lets the love in? he stands at the gate methinks |

Arctic Monkeys – 505 Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I think this song is beautiful and beautifully sung. The lyrics are very clever and powerful and "i crumble completly when you cry", the climax of the song, is always stuck in my head. He is a very clever guy, alex turner. Inspired me in so many ways. |
Arctic Monkeys – Perhaps Vampires Is a Bit Strong But... Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I don't know if anyone has pointed this out already, but i was just thinking. "All you people are vampiers" A vampire bites your necks, as this is where the skin is thinnest, and sucks the blood right out of you, leaving you pale. People attack at your weaknesses. They take and take and give nothing back, leaving you drained. These people are real life vampiers. I even know a few myself. |
