This isn't a lyric correction so much as an attribution correction. "For Your Precious Love" was written by Arthur Brooks, Richard Brooks and Jerry Butler. Ashford and Simpson wrote "Your Precious Love," a fantastic song performed by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell. |

I love this song, but maybe just because of nostalgia, I prefer the version released in 1997 on this Australian 7" comp. It doesn't have the awesome guitar solo and the production is pretty muddled (in a good way). I love it though. There are some lyrics at the end of this version that I don't fully get: "As you ... don't you ever change."
I really hope that one of these days Doug releases another comp like The Normal Years, collecting all of the vinyl only releases since then and otherwise not collected on that comp. There's a ton of great material out there that's pretty hard to find now, and while I have most of it, it'd be nice to have it all in one place. |

It was my favorite for quite some time, at least before PFNO came out. I requested it at a concert once and he said it doesn't work out too well live. It's still in my top five, easy.
