It is possible the 'time went by and it became a joke' lyric much later after the rest of the song

Guns N' Roses – Shotgun Blues Lyrics 15 years ago
Meh, it's not like everyone doesn't already know what an asshole Vince Niel is.

It was just a stupid spat between two rockers acting childish that never amounted to anything. It wouldn't have done anything like preventing the two bands from touring again.

Not that they had the chance to anyway.

Anyway, I reckon this is one of the songs many people site when they say the UYI albums have too much filler. I don't agree really, the song isn't bad now and again. It's not really up to the standard of the other GNR songs though.

The question is, would we rather have had this or a proper studio version of Crash Diet?
I sure as hell know what I would have prefered.

Guns N' Roses – Riad n' the Bedouins Lyrics 15 years ago
If this had been a single everyone would have thought it was racist. Good job Axl forked out for the rights for Martin Luther King Jr. speeches and samples from Mississipi Burning to ensure nobody had such outrageous ideas.

Guns N' Roses – This I Love Lyrics 15 years ago
In one of Slash's radio interviews when he was touring Snakepit he said something like "yeah Axl was writing all of this stuff, and I didn't want any part in any Stephanie Seymour ballads or anything like that" pretty much confirms this song is about Seymour.

IF ONLY Axl had released it before she'd happily remarried and had several kids with the guy this song might not have fallen on deaf ears. :p

Oh well.

Guns N' Roses – Shadow Of Your Love Lyrics 15 years ago
Most people think that only old Hollywood Rose demos and a fake live dubbed version of this song exist.

This song was actually fully recorded, mixed and mastered for Appetite, but was b-side'd.

The best quality version of this song can be easily found on the cheap-as-chips Live And Let Die CD single, so get your asses onto Amazon and pick it up for mere pennies!

Guns N' Roses – Human Being Lyrics 15 years ago
Yeah, I'm sure he says "whole diff'ern't beast" or "whole 'nother beast", indicating the contrast between the way they play this song totally OTT compared to the previous tracks.

I love this cover, I really do. The only problem I have with it is the chorus is meant to be sang by back-up singers, but Axl tackles it all himself with an inadequate overdub, making it sound like he's singing "Now you're messing with a -
a son of a b--NOW you're messing with a son of a bitch etc etc."

It would have sounded better if he's made the first 'bitch' louder and skipped out the repeated 'now'.

"A son of a bitch, you're messing with a son of a bitch etc."
In my opinion anyway.

Guns N' Roses – Buick Makane (Big Dumb Sex) Lyrics 15 years ago
Buick Makane is a song by T.REX!

I think they did they medley because while they wanted to do both songs, the hook from Buick Makane wouldn't have been as strong as the rest of the album and doing a cover of the (fairly young) Soundgarden track would have been to predictable and cringeworthy, but a juxaposition of both works surprisingly well since they contrast so much yet mesh together quite soundly.

And the thought of Axl singing the god-awful verses from the original Big Dumb Sex makes my willy shrivvel in fear.

Guns N' Roses – Sorry Lyrics 15 years ago
I mostly agree with the previous post. You can't read too much into every single line however as there are millions of ways to interpret them. I think until Axl releases an autobiography only the band will actually know the precise meaning of each line.

Anyway, can anybody hear Sebastian Bach on this track? He's so low down on the mix it makes me wonder why the f*** he even bothered! >=[

This song reminds me of those tunes from the old 80s Garfield TV specials. One thing I'd never expect I'd associate with GNR.

This is actually the only song on the Use Your Illusion albums I don't like. I like My World more than this because it just seems like an unnecessary song.

Guns N' Roses – Chinese Democracy Lyrics 16 years ago
This should be the theme for the Bejing Olympics.
Seriously, this lyrics are very aggressive and biting and very effective. We all wanna take a stab at China, but Axl doesn't seem to have even composed an argument here. It's just "fuck the Chinese govournment". Not that there's anything wrong with that.

"You think you got it all locked up inside
And if you beat them enough they'll die
It's like a walk in the park from a cell
And now you're keeping your own kind in Hell
And when your Great Wall rots blame yourself
If you pull your head from you ass you can tell
And we're out of time"

Are these people deaf? Geez.

Guns N' Roses – Black Leather Lyrics 16 years ago
This song is by The professionsal, made up of Steve Jones and paul Cook who were in the Sex Pistols. However, the 7" single of this song was critted to the Sex Pistols and bundled with a bunch of other Sex Pistols singles in a boxed set, which explains the confusion over the credits.

This cover is alright, but the original is better. I'd have prefered a cover of a Sex Pistols song like Submission or Satellite.

Also worth noting, Steve Jones redid the Sex Pistols song Did You No Wrong (excellent song) on his solo album Fire & Gasoline with Axl Rose on backup vocals. It's awesome and I recommend you track the song down.

Guns N' Roses – I.R.S. Lyrics 16 years ago
I thought it was about his divorce and further lawsuits with his wife. I don't know if I read this somewhere or came to this conclusion myself, but when I read the lyrics they sound more relevant to this than to the band.
Maybe it's about both?

Faith No More – The Gentle Art Of Making Enemies Lyrics 16 years ago
this song really does make me think of Jim Martin. Patton was probably aware of that when he wrote this.

I don't think it's about rape as the creepy guy is the receiving one.

Faith No More – Ricochet Lyrics 16 years ago
The explanation that it's about a woman who leaves in infertile man for someone else only to find she is in fact the infertile one sounds reasonable to me.
I don't subscribe to the ridiculous rumours about Kurt Cobain "da gun at the start of come as u are means he was gonna shoot himself!!1", but the reference to shooting himself in the face is uncanny since it was aledgedly written on the same day he died. This may have been a line put in afterward though, just to stir people up.

One of the best songs on KFAD, for sure.

Faith No More – The Perfect Crime Lyrics 16 years ago
This song is played in Bogus Journey before the evil robot Bill and Ted kill the originals and assume their roles. Nobody will be able to tell that Bill and Ted have been 'dopleganged', hence it is the perfect crime.
"It seems you're drinking miniture and soon enough you're gone"
This line could be in reference to one of the film's many climatic deleted scenes, namely the one where Bill & Ted are attacked by their Worst Fears and must overcome them (the easter bunny, grandma S. Preston and Colonel Oats). By overcoming their fears the large representation of them shrank back into the capsules they materialized from, which then smashed on the floor.

Jim Martin appears in the film where he is invited to the future as one of the most influential musicians of all time. Also, a large Faith No More poster can be seen on the wall of Bill & Ted's apartment.

Faith No More – The Morning After Lyrics 16 years ago
It could be a song about waking up after dying and not knowing what happened or what to do next, with no clue of what emotions or sensations still apply to you so you don't know if your feelings mean you're still alive or not.
Waking up this way, his loved one may have been one of the first things he thought of, not knowing if she is okay or if she was actually the one that murdered him.

Sex Pistols – Bodies Lyrics 16 years ago
Pauline was an inmate in a mental institution in Birmingham who would hassle the Pistols when not kept there.

The tree was in reference to a treehouse on the grounds of the institution where she would sit in for days, and as they couldn't budge her, the nurses simply let her stay there until she came down.

I have not seen any evidence of this, but some say Pauline was forced to abort the baby by the institution. How she was able to get hold of the foetus afterward I am unsure of. None of the Pistols have varified this fact.

This was one of the (very few) post Matlock songs. It is said that this is the only song on the whole of the album where Sid's bass track was left in. This may have been because it was recorded at a different time (Sid was in hospital with Hepatitis C during the recording of NMTB, so Steve Jones recorded the basslines).

A good live cover of this song by Velvet Revolver is featured on some UK editions of their album Contraband.

Sex Pistols – Belsen Was A Gas Lyrics 16 years ago
This is not a song that is deliberately trying to be offencive, it is just a song that does not go out of its way to avoid sounding it.

This does not in any way glorify the holocaust, it is merely incredibly blunt. I think the listener can hear the lyrics and decide for themself if what the nazis did were bad without the song having to give the band's opinion. Apparently if they don't confirm they think it was tragic they must believe it was glorious. What crap.

The one thing in this songs which hints to the opinion of the band is the final verse (which was added by Ronnie Biggs) about Martin Bormann, the man who made the executive decision to start exterminating Jews, getting savagely lynched if they were to ever get their hands on him. Anyone wih common sense should be able to work out the band's opinion on the nazi regime from that verse. The evil bastard got (or would have gotten) what he deserved.

Naturally most idiots are going to read this song the wrong way, but the Pistols just didn't give a shit about those people.
Also, Nancy was Jewish and she liked the song. She even sang it live at the Electric Ballroom gig with the Vicious White Kids, say pay attention to someone who actually knows the meaning, you dolts.
