The vocals from Annie Lennox at the very start of the song - which I can best describe as the 'na naa neee na naaa naaaa' in whatever note they are sung are for me the definition of the wold 'ethereal'. I do not know any other thing like it. It is a unique sound and truly feels like something from another world - and capable of taking you to another world. Listening to this truly takes me to another world. |

This song is a missed opportunity. He could have highlighted an issue in his rap - but instead we have a VERY powerful video with a song that has nothing to do with Sierra Leone. The remix with Jay Z is better - but still more could have been done with this theme. |

I didnt expect such opposition to this song - its a true classic! Thank GOD no one has said 'This is a cover of a song done by Westlife'. Now if anyone has had a relationship with a Mandie this song will always be special - i'm sure its been played / sung to Amandas / Mirandas everywhere and will continue to do so for years to come. The chorus is touching and the simple lyrics work well. Not sure about the 'and nothing is rhyming' line. Yes, this song and 'Can't Hardly Wait' go together well. |

Its about the intimacy in a relationship - the trust and sharing of 'secrets'. Now i dont want to spoil the song for anyone, but i partly think it could be an affair that is being referred to and thus the constant reference to keeping secrets... Having said that the references to secrets could just be emphasis of that crucial ingredient for a relationship - trust. |

I think it could possibly be a dedication to the special someone whilst there are maybe going through a rocky patch - hence the title - also the section that goes: "Why, somebody?, Why do people break up, and turn around and make up? I just can't see. You'd never do that to me (would you baby)?" That question is almost looking for reassurance. Its the sort of song you'd play to someone just as / before / after a marriage proposal. |

I believe the comment about the partner having passed away is plausible - but other sections suggest she's still alive - for instance the part about looking through her book of memories. What does this section mean? "Why can't you see That nature has its way of warning me" Its a deep song - i think no one on here has fully cracked this one... myself included... |

My favourite song of all time. Its pretty self explanatory with the imagery of a circle being used to connote ideas of 'eternity'. The circle goes round and round and is never ending. This is used in religous iconography to get across the idea of God being eternal. The 'i begin where you end' is again about an continuation and never ending cycle. 'Rising of the moon as the sun goes down' is again referring to another eternal and 'never ending' cycle of day and night. |

I believe its about keeping going in the daily grind of life - possibly being on tour - just taking each day as it comes and carrying on as best you can. I think i read that it was abotu being on tour. That fits well - the sections about: "where i feel i'm home again and when it's over i'll see you again " Its a good general song about the constant grind of life and always moving in a mudance phase of your life - whether that be being on tour - or going through something like medical treatment (I went through this and related to this song then) - especially comments like: "i've been moving so long the days all feel the same" |

One of my favourite songs for its mood and melody. I think Dragonbadfaith is right - its definately about a sexual experience - the lyrics on that front are quite explicit in many places. "Drip by drip I'll take it all Sip by sip" "Snip by snip I'm oozing it Bit by bit" As well as the other metaphors and talk of emotionally and physically giving in to someone. The themes of 'letting go' and 'losing control' support this. The idea of it being the first time are supported from lines such as 'and now i'm shedding all my fears' - but its not necessarily about losing virginity but definately an initial sexual experiecne with that particular person. Could also be about sexual experience such as an affair as this could also explain the reluctance and fears that are talked about in the lyrics. |
