:) i am the first to comment this song this year and i was reading over the comments and i quote "OK, then maybe you can tell me what's so great about this average, forgotten-in-a-year, indie band. -- lukefun 2006" well i am writing this in late 2007 well december the 19th and you know what the are still here and bigger than ever. i love this song. i mean it is by no way one of there bests i mean if you listen to some of there songs now and how much there music and lyrics have improved since when this was written it is almost like a different band. but this song will always be up there with my top list of arctic songs !! |

i love this song so much i am so glad that they didnt release this though because as they said in an interview it would of killed the song. i guess the song is pretty obvious in what it is about. but the picture they paint in my mind is so vivid and beautiful. they really get relationships and i guess life in genral. haha love the way people from the south of england and the rest of the world dont know what mardy is. guess it is a north thing wooo :D |

i think the song is about how he wants someone in his life to love but he doesnt have the time because he is too busy with the band ect.. "too busy with a mind on clever lines" i dont think he is talking about a particular girl though just random girls that catch his eye and wondering if they could be "the one" "there's one in every town just there to grind you down" and he is scared that by doing this he might of missed her or his chance for love. "I wish I would have seen you in the post office well maybe I did and I missed it" also he is seeing less and less girls that he likes "you're slacking love, where have you been?" and in the end he realizes that if he carrys on that when he eventualy does start looking he wont have anyone and it will be too late. "but if I'd seen you in the bakery you probably wouldn't have seen me" i am probably way off like but that is what the song means to me |

is it just me or does it seem like they are building like a story up of this couple i think the order goes mardy bum too much to ask do me a favour anyone agree alex turner writes some truly beautiful songs most make me cry ahaha |
