Wolf Parade – California Dreamer Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Thanks for pointing out the revisions, guys. I've made the appropriate changes. |
Wolf Parade – Kissing The Beehive Lyrics | 16 years ago |
That's just Kissing the Beehive before they finished working on it. |
Wolf Parade – Language City Lyrics | 16 years ago |
"Language City is about a coke party" Frank Booth just got owned. |
Wolf Parade – Kissing The Beehive Lyrics | 16 years ago |
"Each stanza during the second half offer conclusions and tie-ins to other songs of the album." Mm...I see the radio connection to California Dreamer, but don't see any other connections in those last stanzas. Though I do see a lot of throw backs in Dan's lyrics "Our hearts beat regular time" :: "You know our hearts beat time out very slowly" "The landscapes don't, rivers flowing by" :: "Getting tired of landscapes, we're just floating" "We're just drifting on my long hair with the flies" :: "Until then don't tear your hair out, I won't tear it out if you don't" Some of these may be a stretch. Just things I've noticed. |
Wolf Parade – Fine Young Cannibals Lyrics | 16 years ago |
The connection between this and the actual band Fine Young Cannibals is in the harmony...as far as I can tell. Listen to the last harmony on "All that's a man, trickle it out, let me breathe." It's extremely high-pitched, like many of the harmonies used by FYC in the early 90's. |
Wolf Parade – Language City Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Maybe it's "When I interfere, it's best to avoid the law" But...it's really hard to tell with Dan. Oh, and this song is dealing with the same hate of modern cities that Dan is always talking about. Modern World, Soldier's Grin, Handsome Furs Hate this City, etc. |
Wolf Parade – Bang Your Drum Lyrics | 16 years ago |
...two* |
Wolf Parade – Bang Your Drum Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Christ...that's too lyrics I've heard "Do" as "till" Thanks, changing it now. It's really hard to make out what Spencer / Dan are saying half the time. Took me about half an hour just to get all these. |
Wolf Parade – California Dreamer Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Thanks for pointing that out. Changed. |
Wolf Parade – Call It a Ritual Lyrics | 16 years ago |
The line is actually, "You will grow out of me As naturally As branches from a tree" |
Wolf Parade – California Dreamer Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Listen to the song "California Dreaming" by The Mamas and the Papas. This song is about the singer of that song. Spencer makes constant allusions to its lyrics. |
Wolf Parade – Killing Armies Lyrics | 16 years ago |
These lyrics are dreadfully incorrect. |
Radiohead – Last Flowers Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Why would them not putting it on the album have anything to do with it not being about the media? Your interpretation makes a lot of sense too, but I still stick by mine. Just seems more like something Thom would have been writing about in those days. |
Radiohead – Last Flowers Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Treading on people's toes Snot nosed little punk* Like was mentioned, it's an OK Computer song. Appliances going berserk is just the rattling and buzz of technology and the day to day to day. Please don't interrupt Just sit back and listen- Thom felt overwhelmed during the OK Computer tour, and the press was constantly hounding him for interviews but would hardly let him speak. ((See the Radiohead documentary Meeting People is Easy)) No matter what he said he did, someone in the press would make a comment about how he was a depressed, gloomy asshole. A "snot-nosed little punk" if you will. He couldn't say anything without "treading on people's toes" The whole ordeal was too much, too bright, too powerful. |
