Sorry guys, if anything's wrong feel free to make corrections cause I wrote this from a live version. Decided not to listen to the real tracks before they're released... |

The Decemberists – Oceanside Lyrics

Am I the only one who hears a pun in the chorus? He seems to pronounce it like you would "mussels" but you know that's not what he really means. So... y'know... sea them.
I dunno, it always makes me laugh. |

The Decemberists – A Cautionary Song Lyrics

Colin sounds like he's trying not to laugh, especially at the beginning of the third stanza.
Jxnarcoticz.. Do you mean the one in the CD booklet? Or is there a different one somewhere... Either way pretty sweet that you got a Decemberists tattoo. |

The Raconteurs – Pull This Blanket Off Lyrics
| 16 years ago
|
I think the first line of the third stanza is "It gets hard sticking to your guns."
Anyways I guess this song is about wanting to get out of your comfort zone and do something worthwhile.. He feels like he's lost his values but he's hesitant to get out of his current situation, which is just sort of stagnant. In his gut he "doesn't buy what they're telling him," but he's unsure about running away because "everybody's having fun."
Pulling the blanket off means taking away his comfort and opening his eyes to the reality that he's in with the wrong crowd... And he feels like he needs the help and reassurance of whoever he's addressing in the song. ("I wanna believe in you") |

The Raconteurs – Carolina Drama Lyrics

Oh, right, triple loser must be Jack's obsession with 3 popping up again. Haha I should have known.
There's great imagery in this song, and a fantastic sense of realism... Blue tattoos, a hammer and a cold glass bottle of milk... Burying the body under the trees.. And I love the instrumentation at the part when Billy breaks in, with the banjo and the fiddle going full force, and the drums pounding, and those subtle back-up vocals... It builds up so well and it ends awesomely. It's such a satisfying song... Great way to end the album.
"The white milk dripped down with the bloood" -- Gives me goosebumps. =D |

The Raconteurs – Salute Your Solution Lyrics

I think you're right on "problems," it makes more sense. But it's really hard to tell whether it's "well beyond" or "worthy of." Same with prize and pause >_<
Maybe when they play it live it'll be easier to tell.
Any other corrections are welcome. I was guessing at parts ^^; |

Kings of Leon – Molly's Chambers Lyrics

"Chambers can also refer to the section of a gun where the bullet is loaded."
I thought he meant the chambers in her heart, but the chambers of a gun makes more sense, especially with the pistol line to go along with it... |

Spoon – Don't You Evah Lyrics

I like Eva's take. But then what's he saying to never do? Say "I love you"? Cause it's gonna keep their partner hanging around. Maybe he's trying to get this girl, so he wants her to keep up this never-saying-I-love-you thing, so the guy will leave. Unless of course it's the guy who never says I love you.
Anyways, what's he say at the very beginning? "I told you I can't make it slick"... or something... |
