I can see why you might hear it as "gospel" but I think "ghost" makes more sense here. As for the lies/night thing it definitely sounds like "lies" to me - sometimes they print lyrics on these things & then change the occasional word - but like Tyann says, it doesn't really matter. |

I love Parachute & this is gorgeous song! To me though the "She shows me everything she used to know, picture frames and country roads." & "she watched as it fell apart, to seperate rooms & broken hearts" sounds like a child watching their parents divorce? |

I was just listening to this song & I agree with the interpretation about it being to do with a mother's father (grandfather) being a bad dad. However, I feel: "Breathing comes in pairs Except for twice One begins and one's goodbye Sixty years of sorrow he got five or six of bliss Left my mothers mother without so much as a kiss" could potentially be about twins. I mean, maybe the mother had a twin brother (that her father was so desperate for) that passed away when he was 5/6? Or alternatively, it could be about the grandson himself. Maybe, because he never got a son, the "five or six years of bliss" was the years he got with his grandson before he passed away? I also feel like this theory could explain the "he never wanted to leave you broken" line. Like perhaps the grandson was close with his grandfather and he, although his grandson was still young, confided with him about why he treated daughter/wife so badly & that's why he knows he never wanted to leave them broken? |

I really liked this song when I heard Taylor perform it at the VMAs however, knowing it's about Kanye makes me like it less. It just seems odd and overly serious and even slightly creepy, in retrospect what he did wasn't even that bad. It just made him look like a jerk. |

I love this song, definitely my favourite off the album. I was a little confused by it though because after some thought, I was like 'I was enchanted to meet you doesn't make sense'. Until my sister pointed out that it could mean 'enchanted' as in fated to meet someone, like it was meant to happen, but I'm not sure if that works with the rest of the song... |

This may sound a little weird but I hate how happy the album version sounds! I had the live/acoustic version on my Ipod forever and really liked the song because it sounded so heartfelt and kinda sad. But the poppy sound on the album kinda ruins the emotion and meaning of the song. I can't get used to it! |

But I don't see you around anymore I go to all the same places" could say that it was about Jeremy because I swear I read somewhere that after the end of the last tour they went back to Franklin and didn't speak for weeks. |

I think that kinda sounds like it doesn'y quite belong there, like it belongs on the end of another song & it could relate back to JWAFOM where he's trying to convince the police it wasn't him or he's just trying to convince himself he didn't do it. & I know it isn't part of the Jenny thing but it could fit. |

One of my fave Paramore songs despite the fact it reminds me of my idiot of an ex boyfriend who always used to sing the line 'You Shine Brighter Than Anyone' to me... -.- Anyways! I think it means something about a guy who wants/has to leave a girl for whatever reason "And if it ends today Well, I'll still say That you shine brighter than anyone" But he's done if before & they got into really big fights the first time & the girl doesn't want that to ever happen again. |

I love this song to peices but I honestly can't say why... I did think at first it was about something someone did to her but then when I listened to it again after reading what some people said about the mocking thing I thought it was that. Now I really don't know! xD But I do agree that it is one of those 'I-Really-Don't-Give-A-Damn' songs either way. |

I was thinking about what he says at the beginning then I read someone's post about 'she said she loved me' not being in this one. So I thought maybe he might have said something about that in the beginning but I've listened to it loads & can't make it out at all... I have to say this is one pretty awesome song! I think it's approaching my favourite one of Sawdust! |
