DVDA – America, Fuck Yeah! Lyrics 16 years ago
Ummm.....no one seems to get that this song, as well as the movie, is a SATIRE!! Just like how South Park: Bigger, Longer, Uncut was a satire about how parental groups blame everyone but themselves for their children's behavior. Team America was a satire about how American patriotism had went too far after the fall of the World Trade Center.

Anyways......it's still a funny ass song

Vanessa Carlton – Ordinary Day Lyrics 16 years ago
This song is great. Great piano work, great lyrics, great presentation. She really shows her vocal talents in this on. Somehow, I believe this song is dear to her, though I could be mistaken. But, for me, she puts too much heart and soul into it for it not to be dear to her somehow.

Ten Foot Pole – A.d.d. Lyrics 16 years ago
I think this song is about the over-diagnosis of A.D.D. It's a real disorder, but not THAT many kids hace it. It's a funny satirical song about Doctors making money from prescribing Ritilin to kids who don't need it, and are creating a bigger problem.

There are people who GENUINELY have A.D.D. and for them, Ritilin seems to help, but for others, it seems like it's more a recreational drug.

" Greg could never write something this good. "

Ummm.....what? Greg Graffin could very well be the best punk rock song writer of our time. Just because his lyrics have some intelligent thoughts in them doesn't mean they're not good. In fact, if you ask me, that makes them even better.

Bad Religion – Fields of Mars Lyrics 16 years ago
For me, the song's about mankind's ( as a whole ) love of Earthly delights and lack of enlightenment. What follows is decadence. As SilasWolfe pointed out, the " Fields of Mars " was where ancient Roman soldiers were trained and where they celebrated after victories. Very few civilizations were as decadent as the ancient Romans or, as I believe Dr. Graffin is pointing out to us, our own Western civilization.

My point is this: Without some kind of enlightenment, man will continue stew in a sort of evolutionary stagnation. Sure man will invent new technology, but I'm referred to a quote from Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty..." Billions spent on weapons technology so humans can humanely murder other humans in greater numbers "

When we get past all this, we'll be " above the Fields of Mars " meaning, to me, that we'll be past all that nonsense and be a better species for it.

That's what I think anyway.

Bad Religion – Honest Goodbye Lyrics 16 years ago
My favorite off the New Maps album. I just LOVE how Greg sings the " Oh to be forgiven but that wouldn't be right. " line. Best part of the song though is the second verse, obviously about Smith from In Cold Blood.
