Mika – Holy Johnny Lyrics | 14 years ago |
"When he once was a whore/ Now he's a priest at 24" These lines make me laugh so much! I absolutely love this song and I really hope MIKA puts it on his next album. |
Mika – You Made Me Lyrics | 14 years ago |
To me, this song is about a couple who seem to always disagree and never seem to get along, but at the same time, the narrator is still in love with his partner. I also think this could be an abusive relationship: "Cos I'm black and I'm blue" could mean he's covered in bruises and could result in all the disagreements they get into. |
Mika – I See You Lyrics | 14 years ago |
To me, this song is about a guy who is always sort of staring at the girl (or guy), across the room but is too nervous to actually go up and ask the person out. But after spending so much time dreaming about the girl/guy without even talking to them, the main guy is too scared that the girl/other guy won't live up to his dreams and he doesn't want it to end badly. He's built up this perfect image of the girl/guy but doesn't want to take a chance that s/he will say no so he just continue staring from afar. |
Mika – Blame It on the Girls Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Well, Mika explains the meaning of this song himself: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iXKadbHbj4A It's basically about when you're a teenager and you blame everything on everyone else, not taking responsibility for your own actions. And the "poor pretty boy" mentioned in the video linked above is shown in the lines "While you're wondering what the hell to do/Are you wishing you were ugly like me?" It's sort of saying that the pretty boy of the story is so unhappy and blames all his problems on everyone else, and thinks that maybe if he's ugly, his life will be better but in reality, it's his attitude that needs to change, not his appearance. And it's "Blame it on the boys who keep hitting on you" |
Mika – Grace Kelly Lyrics | 15 years ago |
" I think he was talking about Fred Astaire when he says "So I tried a little Freddie"" That's what I thought as well. But it could be referring to both since Freddie Mercury is rather similar to him but Fred Astaire would make more sense in the context. And completely awesome song. Really catchy, too. |
Coldplay – Viva la Vida Lyrics | 16 years ago |
"Once you'd gone there was never" I think it's: "Once you'd gone it was never" |
Metro Station – Tell Me What to Do Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I'm pretty sure the girl in the song is a coke addict, since it says 'take another line' and coke is the only drug I can currently think of that you snoot in a line. |
Jonas Brothers – Games Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Well, when I first heard this, I thought it was about a girl playing games with their heads- does she really like him or is it just a trick? Then I saw a video on youtube with them explaining it and it's what MANDYxLOVESxJB said- a reference to boards games- "We don't get to do this twice" meaning you don't get a do-over while playing board games "That's been costing us so much" I think this refers to Monopoly, with how much you spend in th game, buying places and paying for landing on already owned spots I've heard there are a lot of board game references but these are the only ones I've been able to find. |
Metro Station – Seventeen Forever Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Awesome band, awesome song with a simple meaning: Obviously a teenage romance "We're one mistake from being together" Obviously referring to sex. I think they are saying that if they have sex, it would keep them together forever (getting pregnant) but it would be a mistake. "You won't be seventeen forever" Turning 18 soon so she won't be a minor and they could legally have sex and he won't go to jail for sex with a minor. Woah, after analyzing it, it's kind of a weird meaning. |
Jonas Brothers – Nick J Is Off The Chain Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Actually, it's from a video on youtube I believe where they were just fooling around and Nick started singing this |
The Fratellis – Henrietta Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I think this song is about a girl/woman that they know who has a crap life and a crap husband but she refuses to leave him so the boys try to convince her to come live with them |
