Bruce Springsteen – Your Own Worst Enemy Lyrics 16 years ago
This whole album is mostly social/political commentary. Again, this is about the USA and what Bruce feels we've done to ourselves since 2000. Personally I don't agree with Bruce's attitude 100%, but I see where he's coming from. He makes it seem like everything was peachy before some of the things he complains about "Once the family felt secure..". Well, we weren't exactly secure - that's the point. To me this is one of the weaker songs on the album, which speaks well of the album.

Also, the 7 drops of blood may signify the injury to Liberty in the last 7 years.

Bruce Springsteen – Backstreets Lyrics 16 years ago
It's hard to say, but this is probably my favorite Bruce song ever. Starting as a teenager in the early '80s, this song has been a companion through several heartbreaks. It captures the pain of young love/friendship/heartbreak as poetically as can be imagined. Unbelievable catharsis. I too can't listen to it just once.

Bruce Springsteen – You'll Be Comin' Down Lyrics 16 years ago
I agree it's about Bush. Works as a song about a girl too though. Maybe one of my all-time favorite Bruce lyrics.. "You'll be fine long as your pretty face holds out..Then it's gonna get pretty cold out"

Bruce Springsteen – Long Walk Home Lyrics 16 years ago
Actually not quite that either. Bruce is again getting stuff off his chest about our country. Great music though.

He feels we have departed from the core values of America. The attitudes of a lot of people in his home town in Jersay make them seem like "rank strangers" to him. It's going to be a long walk home to the place he feels we belong.

Along with the theme of Magic, I take this song as social commentary. Theresa is a metaphor for Liberty.
