Based on other No Doubt songs I'm thinking that this is about the difficulty of long distance relationships. She says that today is going to be easy because she doesn't have to get all prettied up for him but in reality it's killing her not to have him around. She almost wishes they never met but she can't let go of him... |

To me, and perhaps it's because I'm in this situation, I think this song is sung from the perspective of someone who has an ambiguous relationship with them. They really care about them and obviously the other person cares about them but there's nothing definite and the person singing just wants to be satisfied since they're doing all they can to make things work. |

I dunno about the video meaning problems with the band. I think it's like the Don't Speak vid where everyone thought the band was going to break up afterward. I agree with whoever said that the song was about a girl realizing that although she was good with the guy and good for him that she was better on her own. |
