Marilyn Manson – Disposable Teens Lyrics
|
I think this song isn't making fun of the new generation.
The new generation knows its fucked up and unrefined. It knows its faults and shortcomings, its self-absorbed violent tendencies. It accepts them.
For all that, the new generation is better than the old. All the struggles for intellectual improvement (ape was a great big hit, Scopes-Monkey Trial) have resulted in a bunch of apes. The 60's (Revolution, man - Beatles) gave voice to a revolution that was nothing more than escapist ideal, that collapsed to become the world we have now, in spite of it. The religious upheaval has birthed a hateful, controlling, entitled, disfigured face to God.
Now its our turn, and our ugliness gives us power. |

some blowhardist message that all logical conjecture - based thought will be abolished when the sky fairy comes to destroy the ones who don't bow down to the whims of the theocrat and the despot.
3 cheers for hell and science!

Dio – The Mob Rules Lyrics

How about we actually get the right artist? This is not Ronnie James Dio's solo career, but while he was in black sabbath. Wouldn't it make sense to have the artist be black sabbath. I thought so. |

Blind Guardian – Otherland Lyrics

The song is about the people trying to take down the organic artificial reality of otherland. They must shut it down, but difficulties arise as they must realize that they cannot be sucked in by the illusions of Otherland. the society is damned, for the artificial reality both takes any ideals of progress of the real world, and puts the user in a comatose state. they try to save the people from Oblivion |

I may be way off, but then again, this is power metal. I think that it's about the end of Lord of the Rings, when whats-his-face is back with saruman to take over the shire (book, not movie) But then again, I'm probably full of shit. |

Sinergy – Gallowmere Lyrics

What is the dialogue at the end from?
Boy: "Oh I wish James and Mason would do a religious picture. He'd be perfect as Jesus!"
Girl: "Daddy says the bible's a load of bunken"
Boy: "But we're all going to heaven?"
Girl: "I'm not. I'm going to the fourth world! Its sort of like heaven...only better, because there aren't any Christians." |

Marilyn Manson – This Is The New Shit Lyrics
| 16 years ago
|
yeah, no wonder he wrote this song. it's for his idiot "fans" who just want to be as rebellious as him, but can't keep up with him mentally. it's not about free sex. it's about the impossibility of getting his messages across when even his fans are idiots. even as he addresses his fan base, many don't see how they categorically fit into that rebel-without-a-cause cliche he manages to avoid with prudent thought and analasys. |

it's a modern satire on social norms. satire means figurative. at least some of us can understand Manson. the first few posts on here are so off, it's no wonder about the controversy. His meanings are controversial enough, but when misinterpreted... |

Why were they upset at the hand-cut-off-because-you-are-a-thief thing? Wasn't that law in effect at the supposed time of aladdin? if so, why is that so wrong to depict? History is far from glamorous... |

Disney – A Whole New World (Aladdin) Lyrics

it's Unbelievable SIGHTS...You only hear what you want to hear. Disney has a long enough history of subliminal messaging (placed in by rogue faculty) without you making more up. Read the lyrics, and for your own sake, don't make pre-judgements about your own false versions.
BTW, it's ROMANCE everyone. Sex happens to be what romance leads to, so get over it. Thats what happens in a romantic relationship, so stop trying to make this out to be a shock. Certainly only the mature can understand this, and the children viewing this don't make the connection, but they do have some idea of what love is. for the record, this song is only explicit if you want it to be. Subliminal messaging is one thing, but honestly... |

Has nobody read peter pan? Dark Artist has a point, besides Disney, he does write songs about legends. Even if it's not about peter pan, both this and the pan legend are so similar in meaning that it hardly matters. Open your heart, your mind, and your imagination, and see where life takes you. |

Simply put, this song sucks. But it means that there are preconceived notions about everything passed as truth, so the truth gets hazy. Don't let that fool you. The song blows. |

Queensrÿche – Empire Lyrics
|
It is partially true to both parties. 6% of federal spending. FEDERAL. they bring up the total expenditure country wide, but then change focus in order to shock and awe, as bush would say...(sorry, couldn't help myself) Either way, it is propaganda, meant to stir emotions that shouldn't be. federal gov spending on law enforcement are not even remotely close to spending in state and local. By all means, it's an unfair assessment. The numbers add up, but they are used in a purposefully misleading way. Point of the song well is made, though logic debunks it as an impending need for larger government.
I like the song, but I tend to like all sorts of music with stupid lyrics and ideas. Thats what a lot of the 80's were about. Yet gifted as I am at interpretation, I don't swallow every pseudo philosophy that crosses my path.
