i was listening to this song..and its quite obvious he's saying how difficult it is for him to let someone in, and eventually he hurts that person and loses their trust, hence burning bridges. i found that the title, though, "let's get lost" shows that he's finally ready to do that with someone else and that he doesn't mind if hes not alone anymroe.

i love how much ben puts himself into character.
when he says 'dying alone', i think about what sarah said, and the whole point of it being that we all die alone. and how here he says theyre staying together so that they dont die alone.
and i also love that old classic type feel to the song. |

theres something ihave to point out on a lot of elliott songs on the site...there's little interpretations here and there from 2003 and earlier, before he died. and each one just gives me the major spooks.
and i heard him say in an interview once that he doesnt really like people overanalyzing his songs because theyre just about his or someone he knows' feelings. |

im kinda confused about this song,
but what i think its about is a girl whos really empty, who doesnt really believe in love, doesnt know how to love and everything. she hates her job, and is detached from everything, maybe because shes rich.
then theres the whole one night stand and she realizes that maybe shes missing a man from her life, a man whos there for sex...and shes begging him to stay.
