Grateful Dead – Dark Star Lyrics 16 years ago
gumcounter why did you stop? is your carpal tunnel acting up again, a good tip is to put down the ky jelly and socks and do a couple wrist excercises. Just messing with you dude i would actually like to hear what else you've got to say. You seem to know what you're talking about

But about the song, i believe to be about going out and trying new things with people it's never too late to try new things. To go along with what floppywoknoodle had to say about the perspective of the song

First off this is the greatest pick-me up song, and conforming to the crowd i believe it to be about getting by and knowing good times are right around the corner so as to never get down on yourself. Grateful Dead, they've saved me so many times.

There are no studies proving that LSD or acid has any effects on the adverse effects on the brain, however there are no studies to disprove and that is mainly because our government banned LSD so no scientific studies could be done with it (somewhere around the late 60's or 70's)

But to the more important subject Casey Jones is a great song, not their best but a great song non-the-less. And i believe the song to be about a person 'living' too fast. Not taking time to smell the roses. He may be trying to outrun his problems "..trouble behind...", or it could be his cocaine abuse. But the ultimate price of death is the trouble ahead, just around the bend and when he realizes that trouble ahead of him its too late.

The only part that really gets me is the lady in red part. i have no clue about that, except that she would be better off dead then watching the trainwreck that is Casey Jones (no the train itself)
