Green Day – Road to Acceptance Lyrics | 15 years ago |
LoveloveLOVE this song. The thing I love most about the 1,039/SOSH album is that you get to see GD's attitudes towards adolescence, and it's just amazing to listen to because it was so long ago. It also rocks you can relate to it just under 20 years on. |
Fall Out Boy – Moving Pictures Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I think this is the only good song on Evening Out With Your Girlfriend, both lyrically and musically. I also think Patrick is a much better lyric writer than Pete. Pete's songs are just metaphor one liners all put together to make a song. Patrick's lyrics flow. |
Blink-182 – Adam's Song Lyrics | 15 years ago |
ShotDownInFlames you're a fucking moron. I'm no hater of blink, but how can they "own" the punk scene? It comes down to opinion on whether they're punk or not, but they're not the biggest, first, or most influtiantial punk band. Punk isn't a genre to "own" and as for the /rock part, I'm not going to reply to that, but just point out your ignorance of saying blink-182 are the best rock band of all time... As for the happiness in the song, since when is it up to you to decide what people interpret for the song? If people see happiness in the song, let them. You're a fucking moron who needs to be shot down to earth, you're not fucking hardcore. BTW the happiness is in the last chorus, where it shows the narrator is realising things are going to get better (E.g. Tomorrow just holds such better days, The world is wide, the time goes by) so if you want to claim there's no happiness in the song AND claim people don't read the lyrics properly, you might want to revaulate those statements. |
Paramore – We Are Broken Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Ok I'm going to regret posting this... This song reminds me of something you scream when you've done something you regret, and you're asking for forgiveness. Right now, I'm regretting something I did. I was listening to Riot! and I was on my bed, and this song came on. I suddenly screamed, threw my cd at the wall and collapsed into a nearly sobbing heap. Now I'm playing it on repeat, and I dunno. Now I've asked for forgiveness I can now move on and feel better :) But I still choke when I sing along with the chorus I hate being this soppy ahahaha, I swear I'm not usually like this. |
Fall Out Boy – Dead on Arrival Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Although this song was written about a girl obviously, it can go for friendship too. "i hope this is the last time 'cause i'd never say no to you this conversation's been dead on arrival and there's no way to talk to you this conversation's been dead on arrival " Your ex friend keeps coming up to talk to, even though it's just awkward forced conversation but you feel as if it's rude to say no, or you don't want to for good times sake/keep holding on. "a rivalry goes so deep between me and this loss of sleep over you " Speaks for itself, you're no longer friends and you can be rivals, and you're losing sleep over it. "this is side one flip me over i know i'm not your favorite record the songs you grow to like never stick at first so i'm writing you a chorus and here is your... " Obviously you're not friends anymore, so you're wondering why they keep trying to talk to you. Anyway I'll stop there because the song repeats itself. I'm going through this with someone at the moment, so if you're reading this (SINCE YOU SEEM TO E-STALK ME, YES? Come on, yell at me for 'backstabbing' you again even though I haven't mentioned names and it's out in the open. I know you're reading this. C'mon, admit you're creepy) you know it's exactly about you. |
Simple Plan – Running Out Of Time Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Definitely sounds like political figures, they'll send in other people to kill others, but will never get personal and send in someone they love or whatever, therefore they don't care a lot about what happens, and who dies. (It's just another battle When you exercise your authority When the dust is finally settled Will you catch up with reality?) also most of the song "Running out of time, you're watching people die and you still don't care, etc.) Also But there's no one else to blame We'll be left to clean the mess When you're gone (Running out of time) About when they leave the office/someone else gets elected we're still stuck with their mess. Could be an anti-Bush song, however it fits just about any Political figure from any country you can name. |
Reel Big Fish – Cheer Up! Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I sent this to my ex best friend who whines basically over spilt milk. She didn't say anything, I think she didn't listen to it because she was too busy listening to emo. |
Reel Big Fish – What Are Friends For Lyrics | 16 years ago |
This reminds me of when I used to screw around with this guy, I was basically a tease. I didn't like him at all, he annoyed me. I did it because I could. Then he started stalking me... 'I’ve got a lot of bad things I guess that I should never have done ‘cause they’re coming back, coming back to me now' |
The Aquabats – Hot Summer Nights (Won't Last Forever) Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Haha. Great song. Obviously it's about some girl who wants nothing to do with some guy, and he's really naive so she can tell him any lie and he'll believe it. It reminds me of some guy my ex-best friend liked to play with. |
The Aquabats – Fashion Zombies! Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Mwahahaha where I got my username. As stated above, it's a mockery of scene/emo kids. Love the thriller rip off. 'Darkness falls across the land The midnight hour is close at hand Creatures crawl in search of blood To accessorize their black zipper hood' |
The Aquabats – CD Repo Man Lyrics | 16 years ago |
This is about when you lend your CDs to someone and you don't get them back, you wish the CD repo man was someone who really did exist. |
Fall Out Boy – Chicago Is So Two Years Ago Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Wow thanks for your insightful comment, Crujebsul. I had no idea that's what this song is about. I don't even like FOB that much, I do like this song I'll admit and that's why I'm here, but comments like that just take up space. |
Blink-182 – The Party Song Lyrics | 16 years ago |
"And in the backyard some terrible ska band" Is that paying out ska music or just saying usually bands hired at parties are really crap? |
Blink-182 – Fuck a Dog Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I dunno, I can take this song being a joke but I don't really find it amusing. It's too slapstick for my liking. And the age old 'Green Day vs. blink' arguments suck. Who really gives a shit? At the end of the day just listen to whatever you like, slagging off other bands is useless, you're not going to change anyone's mind. Who gives a fuck who is more 'punk' because I don't think either band would win nor lose in that debate. |
Blink-182 – Carousel Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I know this wouldn't be the 'official' meaning but this song reminds me of being a university/college student. You're low on money from not having a too flash job & paying fees, and you're always alone because you need to study and do assignments. |
Simple Plan – Generation Lyrics | 16 years ago |
To me, it seems to be about haters. But it's a bit different to "Shut up" It's like, people telling SP that they're too soft, and they don't rock out enough like, 80s/early 90s bands. Mostly metal. And SP are saying that's a different generation, and this is a completely new generation. Their generation. A little bit like "I hate Jimmy Page" by Mindless Self Indulgence (A song which is completely about forgetting about the past, because this is NOW) but a whole lot different as well. |
Rancid – Journey To The End Of The East Bay Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Ok, that comment made by that guy was made years ago but for anyone who thinks Tim is a hypocrite... You're an idiot. All the reasons stated above and also: I know this song is old, very old but The East Bay was a lot more different now (And even in 95) than it was in the late 80s/early 90s. Back then no band was able to go mainstream. It's like a parent pressuring their kid into being a doctor or lawyer when they want to be in a band or something. OPIV was under so much pressue. No one wanted heaps of people to like them but many people liked them. So they broke up. However, it was Green Day who broke the rule of going mainstream and The East Bay punk scene went crazy. But after that everything changed. Going mainstream did lose some fans but it wasn't as badly frown upon. Besides also, Rancid didn't get big as fast as Operation Ivy and by the time they did punks got over hating mainstream stuff, and it was handed over to the indie kids. |
