Silly me I forgot to do what I actually came here to do! My interperataton of this song (not the actual meaning, I dont know what the real meaning is Im just guessing)is pretty much the literal; Even though someone is gone they're still in your thoughts, you still love them and to be moved by them all you need to do is think of them. I assumed that Josh or whoever the song is about (not the person who has passed away) belives that the person is in heaven; gone but not really gone. |

Josh writes his own material, not all of it as many are co-written and many are covers but he does write. People's tastes have nothing to do with intelligence or stupidity, and what is romantic is up to the listner, not one persons opinion of that song. Hmm, I heard someone mention that this was a religious song, well I worded that wrongly - I heard it had aspects connected with religion but I dont know. If it does have religious connotations then I thought it was about a young girl who had run away from her home, after being abused/taken advantage of - not nessasarly a physical thing but more an emotional oir mental thing, they didnt belive ibn the things she belived in or something. Maybe she's lost faith in god, some people use thier religion as a label for themselves: "She walks alone but now Without her name" Ok lyric time: "6:30 winter morn Snow keeps falling, silent dawn" She leavs early so's not to be seen? "A kindest heart which always made Me ashamed of my own" She's a lovey child, making the narrator ashamed of his own behaviour in some way. compared to himshe's a saint in other words. "She walks alone but not without her name" she's lost faith in something, maybe religion. or she's alone and no one is with her, so she doesnt need a name as there's no one there to call her it, or call for her to come back. "Eva flies away Dreams the world far away" She still has dreams and is still innocent. "In this cruel children's game" - She's a child and has child dreams and fears, also the world nowadays can be seen as really childish and cruel, even with the adults. "There's no friend to call her name" She's alone, she has no faith left. "Eva sails away Dreams the world far away" The imagery of flying and sailing away is like a childs fairytale or drawing. its innocent. "The Good in her will be my sunflower field" The narrator in hearing of this little girl, will take inspiration from her. His inspiration from her will cause something to grow, his tolerance, kindness etc. "Mocked by man to depths of shame" She's treated badly, and others like her are treted badly. "Little girl with life ahead" She's still young, with much protensial. "For a memory of one kind word She would stay among the beasts" She'd stay with whoever she came from if they were nicer. "Time for one more daring dream Before her escape, edenbeam We kill with her own loving heart" We turn her caring personality into a flaw as many people hate nice people as it makes them feel insecure or weak etc. Ok some of that is probably wrong, I havent had the song long anyway. Its such a lovely song too. Ok, this is songmeanings.net, not lets compare, flame and ramble on about which nightwish singer is "better" or "Worse" its irrellevent here. |

This is just MY assumption, Im not sayings its true but I always thought it meant: "Fare thee well, little broken heart Downcast eyes, lifetime loneliness" (Lets assume this was a moment in Tuomas's life for this.) This line shows he is obviously broken hearted, and he is now saying goodbye to the pain, maybe leaving numbness, this doesnt mean he's over her but it might mean he's stopped trying to move on, stopped crying or somthing. "Whatever walks in my heart will walk alone" This it seems to me to mean, Whoever he has a relationship with may love him but he'll never love her. "Constant longing for the perfect soul" The person who broke his heart is still being longed for. Or that he spent so long searching for his soulmate that it hurts now as he didnt succeed. "Unwashed scenery forever gone" Happy times are gone? Hecant see any beauty anymore. "No love left in me" He cant love anyone anymore after this lost lover. "No eyes to see the heaven beside me" He's with someone else now (refer to line 3 as well) And the person is obviously amazing, but he cant see or appriciate it as his heart was so badly broken by the other person. "My time is yet to come So I'll be forever yours" Either he's saying he'll always love the lost love or that he'll stay with the new love, even if he doesnt love her. Ok so I just read that back and I relised it may not make much sense to some people (I'm too tired to elaborate stuff today), but I know what I mean, even if it didnt come out right. Aboslutly beautiful song. |

Anyway, back to the song meaning - Yeah it does sound like its about masterbation, I heard this song featured Moby is that right? I dunoo who worte it though or what meaning is behind it. Obviously I dunno if my interpratation is correct but Im just gussing. Its a pretty self explanitory song I guess. "From the small of my back and the arch of my feet Lately I’ve been noticin’ the beautiful me I’m all in my skin and I’m not gonna wait I’m into myself in the most precious way" She talks about her own beauty but I dunno if that means she is sexualy attracted to herself, she could be imagining herself in a sexual situation with someone else. So does this mean britney masturbates? or is it just a song she wanted to sing? *shrugs* It may be a fictional character but who knows. It doesnt come across as discusting for me, I'm not a huge fan of Britney's I like about 6 songs so Im not used to thwe writing style of the songs so please forgive me if ive been talking bollocks here lol. Hm, My interpritation might be waaaaay off but it doesnt matter cos this is only a guess. I thought the song was about a relationship which has ended (He dumping her I guess) and the girl "cant resist" showing him how much she misses him to win him back, Maybe 'cos she never showed him feelings like that. "You are my holy shroud" lol Im probably not getting the meaning of shroud correct, But I thought that suggested the girl showed him signs of worship. "I just dont care if its real" - I thought this was a reply to her saying something like "You can't mess with my feelings this way, the situation is REAL" and he doesnt care as he think she deserves it as she mustve done something wrong. "needles in the hay" Something you miss/cant see, reflecting how heis missed. So yeah thats the way I interprated it, Its only a guess though. Great song. |

I had the odd feeling this song was about death? I may be completly off though. "We are the lucky ones" as if they have survived something or are proud to be alive. "Dance me into the night Underneath the full moon shining so bright Turning me into the light" As if she is taking about the way she wants it to be when she finally has to die. "Turning me into the light" Some people say the dying see a bright white light when they die. "Time dancers whirling past I gaze through the looking glass And feel just beyond my grasp is heaven" Time - Age. She mentions heaven which is pretty literal I guess. "Sacred geometry Where movement is poetry Visions of you and me forever" Not forgetting that special someone when they/you die. "Let the dark waltz begin" Accepting death. Dark - melencholy. Ok, So thats how I enterperated the song - like I said I may be wrong but its a guess :) Lovely song. |

I don't know much about this type of music but a while ago I sat and thought what this song meant. I'm guessing it has something to do with the Mary, mother of christ? I heard maria was another version of the name Mary so thats how I came to that conclusion. I dunno what Ave means, since the name is repeated alot I guessed someone was calling her name. So yeah, I may be COMPLETELY wrong here but I thought I'd give it a guess anyway. Nice song. |

I belive this song is about still being in love with someone who has died, and how painfull it is. "I'm in love with you And it's crushing my heart" Its so painfull as he cannot be with her as she is dead. "When love and death embrace" he feels that his love still stands even when she has died, as if the two (love and death) are meeting. But TJTurkster could also be right about a suicide pact. "Please take me into your arms" as if he is about to die so he can be with her. Unlike the first verse when he is just wishing to be with her, as if the story is changing half way through the song. I'm looking at this literary and not metaphoricly. I'm not saying this is the ACTUAL meaning but thats the way I interprated it. I like how simple the song is as well, it gives a nice effect. |

I THINK this song is about a woman who is in a relationship with a man who is only with her 'cos she resembles his lost love. I'm looking at the song literary not metaphoricly. "Secret, tell me where did she drown" Suggests his old lover is dead. The woman wants to know about this. and why. "Can you free me" She wants to leave him. "I'm moving away But captured in your chains" Sugests she knows whats going on and wants to leave but cannot as he refuses to get go of her, thus refusing to get over his lost love. Maybe the reason why she is asking "Can you free me?" Is cos she doesnt want to hurt him by just running away, and/or that she wants him to get over the other woman who is dead, get closure. Or simply he's actually kidnapped her. who knows. Now thats just my interpritation of the song, I know it might not be the real meaning. I love this song, It sounds so lovley in a way that would make you cry if you were in the right mood for crying. |
