I can't believe no one's commented on this song... I think this song is about a guy and a girl who dated for a while, and were pretty serious. Then they broke up, and he moved on to a girl and possibly got engaged to her. He keeps running into the old girlfriend and resents the fact that she's okay with his new life with his new girl because he was hoping she'd be jealous of him, but she's actually happy for him and hopes she finds her perfect guy just like he's found her perfrect girl. You looked so happy When I saw you with her And I'm so glad I knew you before you met her So I know How guys are before they get her. ^^I think that's basically saying I was the one before "the one" and I'm glad I knew you before you started this knew chapter in your life. |

| I agree that this song's about rape, but it also reminds me of Frankenstein. I know, random, but just hear me out lol. It reminds me of the scene where Frankenstein accidentally kills the little girl while they're throwing flowers in the pond/lake. He doesn't understand the difference between the flowers and the little girl, and he's just so excited he's found a friend because he just wants someone to spend time wtih him, which makes me think of this song because the guy in Dia's story is so desparate for companionship, he'll go as far as raping a girl because he's so happy he's found someone. He didn't mean to hurt or violate her, he just wanted her to stay with him. Okay I'm done with my tangent, just thought I'd add that. Moral of the story, awesome song =] | |

When I first heard this song, I felt like he took a page out of my book and decided to make a song out of it lol. It's a textbook case of unrequited love; you have feelings for someone and for whatever reason they don't feel the same. So'll you'll sit there trying to convince yourself you don't have feelings for that person anymore, and then something will happen that'll make you realize you're only fooling yourself and you still do have those feelings. My favorite lines are: So many thoughts that I can't get out of my head I try to live without you, every time I do I feel dead I know what's best for me But I want you instead I'll keep on wasting all my time It's saying I know the right thing to do, I just can't bring myself to forget about you and let you go. I think we all can relate to that in one way or another. |

I just want to start by saying Taking Back Sunday is an amazing band, and this song totally rocks. To me this song is about have feelings towards someone who you know you shouldn't have feelings for because they make you feel like shit, but despite that you can't forget about them or get them out of your head, and because of that they have this sort of hold over you. |

| I love this song and can really relate. Take it from someone who knows, it sucks to be in that sort of position where you're more emotionally invested than the other person. I especially like the lines "You're using me, do it slowly. Make it last until I have to go" I mean I could be way off here, but, to me, those lines are saying "I'm not stupid, I know you don't feel the same and I'm just here so you can use me, but I do care and I don't want it to end." Again, I could be way off though. | |
