It's definitely extraordinarily cute. I went from listening to Dear John to listening to this, HAHA, oh my. So very cute. Adorable really. I'm no one, just a Swiftie fan, but I write songs like a journal. It's like I found some songs I wrote when I was 9-11. And It's like, wholey CRAP. Sigh. I was with my guy for almost 3 years. Midway through, I meet this guy who blows me away. Still, to this day is the most amazing guy. My (now ex)bf treated me badly, never understood me, generally pushed me away, tried to force me into things... This guy I met a tthe beginning of uni, was the opposite. He's just perfectly imperfect. That makes no sense. I screwed up, broke up with me ex but went back to him instead of moving on to someone better. As Tyson Ritter says in "Damn Girl", that "better man". I missed out on him. A week after I got back with my ex, he got with his now girlfriend. It's been 13 months. Now my ex broke up with me in August, and I'm stuck being distant from my best friend I'm in love with. "I've been playin' back a thousand memories, baby. Thinkin' bout everything we went through. Maybe I've been going back too much lately, when time stood still and I COULD'VE had you." That's how I twist it. And that's what I've been doing lately, a lot of things in this song ring so true wanting someone you once had/could have had, and dearly miss, or want back. But you know it's real life not a movie, and he's not going to come back. That's why I like this. It's not a movie script, it's reality. One of my favs on Speak Now. With that said I adore the entire album. Some songs had to grow on me, but now... :) |

Wow not a single comment? I adore this song. I love the album!! Basically about two people or a couple that get along so well nothing is forced, there's no awkward silences, they just "click" perfectly together, everything is "natural" between them. "You are the thunder and I am the lightning" I love that line, that describes their chemistry, they create a storm when they're together, they're electric. She admires his confidence, or his self confidence rather, pretty much in admiration of him and their compatibility. She's pretty damn attracted to and smitten with this guy. :) x |

She's moved onto someone that's going to look after her properly. It's weird, there's never been a song to address this..issue. I love how I can relate.. but thats what every one of us who have commented has said about this song.. There's plenty of songs about break ups etc, but never those that didnt get to dating. My situation fits the song perfectly. There was this guy I fell in love with, and liked on and off for 3 years, literally from the moment I was introduced to him. We became good friends, but he was a player. He went through girl friends like shirts, but I still wanted him to want me like I wanted him. We hooked up a few times...just kissing and stuff.. he was my first kiss.
