This Time Next Year – Calling In Dead Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I want to sleep for days When my heart's sick She's calling, she's calling She's pouring salt in my wounds You'll be alone someday That's a promise It's shameful to know Little girls grow up to be you Never mind your best intentions I've come to find these situations Never cease to rest, They always get the best of me You know that it's true Fair weather, go figure Calling it quits had its run So I'm calling in dead Fair weather, go figure Some things are better unsaid So I'm calling in dead I want to sleep for days When my heart's sick She's calling, she's calling She's pouring salt in my wounds I want to sleep for days When my heart's sick I don't need you, I don't need you Never mind your best intentions I've come to find these situations Never cease to rest They always get the best of me You know that it's true So pray to god it's all in your head That I never told a lie or never will again Why don't you hang yourself You're a blatant contradiction To your heart felt confessions Fair weather, go figure Calling it quits had its run So I'm calling in dead Fair weather, go figure Some things are better unsaid So I'm calling in dead Fair weather, go figure Calling it quits had its run So I'm calling in dead Fair weather, go figure Some things are better unsaid So I'm calling in dead |
This Time Next Year – Cheers To A Late Night Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I think this song is a story of a guy who wants to tell a girl that he likes her. He thinks that the girl likes him too. As it turns out, the girl doesn't really like him, but at the end of the song, she kinda beats himself up for not telling her how he feels about her, regardless of how she feels towards him, and that he "...[missed] a chance" that night at"...the top of the stairs". |
Tokyo Rose – Spectacle Lyrics | 15 years ago |
There's one part I'd like to point out that's missing from the lyrics above. The second line should be, "In an attempt to fashion a way to regain your attention". Other than that, the lyrics are spot-on. |
Run Kid Run – Move On Lyrics | 15 years ago |
this song could apply to a close freindship, between a guy and a girl, gone sour |
Jason Mraz – If It Kills Me Lyrics | 16 years ago |
my take on it is pretty much what everyone else has said about this song. boy is friends with a girl. girls has a boyfriend. they spend a majority of the time talking, having fun, the works. but he doesn't want to tell her his true feelings because it could potentially ruin what they have already. I'm guessing they've been friends for a while, based on the chorus, and he's been putting up this facade, pretending he's not harboring any feelings for her deeper than "just friends". Because he mentions the fact that she has a boyfriend only once in the song, i think it's significant. Why? probably because he doesn't see the boyfriend as an "obstacle" really. It's more like an aside. I think he's more concerned about him hoping she realizes that he is actually the "one" for her and how he won't do anything (yet) because of his fear of her not reciprocating the feelings he has for her. |
Brightwood – In Memory Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I think this song is about a break up and how Person A "...won't try and reach..." Person B because they can see how distant they've become (physically or emotionally). The line "You carried your heart in the midst of this battle... in your hands" implies that Person B lost it's "drive" somewhere during their relationship. Also the little part in the beginning of the chorus "This time..." shows how their relationship has been rocky in the past and Person B may have left Person A several times before, but back then Person A pushed through and "won back" Person B's "love." But of course Person A isn't just going to let down their relationship that easily. "And I'll wait for you. I'll become something new." Person A is going to "change it's style" so the next time everything will be different and hopefully their "...dreams come true..." |
Keane – A Heart to Hold You Lyrics | 17 years ago |
A straight-forward song that basically says "where ever you are, i'll always be there for you." I wish i could download this song without the radio commentary. |
Keane – The Way You Want It Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I agree with Kikipai. I also think this song is about a guy who has been dumped by his girlfriend. Days pass by and he still has feelings for her, but at the same time, as days pass, his heart becomes more cold. He can't remember how it's like to live without her (Where is the life you once had?), and even if she returns to him, he'd have to turn her down (When she will turn to you again 'So long my friend,' is what you'll say). |
